Hey there, I'm just curious to see how well us stoners do in school, be it college or high school. Even though I smoke bout every night at college, I still managed a 3.12 GPA for my first semester at a decent state school. I'm tired of hearing people say that weed makes you stupid, so lets hear how weed affects your educational abilities and hopefully prove the naysayers wrong!
I started smoking my sophmore year of high school, just occassionally, and as time went on, I smoked more frequently. I did decent in high school, had a 2.75 GPA, took Chemistry, Physics, Trig. I think I did alright, I got out of there and I can still think for myself. It's like Paul Simon says, "When I look back at all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all." Now I'm a Music Technology major. Essentially, I'm going to school so I can produce music. Being a stoner is almost a requirement. I'm taking Music Theory, Aural Training (developing relative pitch and distinguishing what note is being played), and learning a variety of instruments, with the opportunity to learn as many as I have the time/money for. It's really fucking sweet. There's a pretty good music program at my school. I fall in love with music all over again nearly every day. My GPA is higher, I'm even happier as a whole. And I smoke more. Sometimes I smoke before class, but not if I don't think it's a good idea. I don't smoke before theory because I need my mind sharpest, and it's too fucking early. Health, high. Symphonic band, sometimes. I smoke. I'm in school. I'm the happiest I've ever been and wouldn't change a thing in my life. Ok, I'd have regular access to kynd at the price I currently pay for schwag (20 a 1/4) I may have rambled a bit, but as you can tell, I love my school situation. And I am proving wrong the naysayers.
I started smoking sophmore year, I think I got about a 3.2 that year. Now into junior year I started smoking more, but also studied alot more and I have about a 3.6.
I am sorry to report to my fellow stoners, i get horrible grades. But its not because of weed, its because i really dont try in school. I dont have the mental stamina to be paying attention all day, sloving, figuring out, and taking notes. I just cant. Im also a lazy kid that doesnt do his homework. Last quarter i got 2 F's, 1 C and 2 D's. This quarter just ended and i got 2 C's and 3 D's.
Iv always done fairly bad in school. up untill last year when i got put on adderol, my ADHD would affect my performance (in school) dramatically, and weed never helped with that. I have a really hard time paying attention and dont really do homework, but I usually get A's and B's on the tests and everything. I wish i could be one of those succesful stoners, but i just dont think thats a possibilty...
I did well in high school, made high honor role every semester, was president of my class and several other clubs. On average I smoked probably 4-10 times weekly and even sold for a little while. In college my GPA is a 3.8 and I smoke daily. I work 30 hours a week on top of going to school full time and I stay active in clubs and service. I most always put school work ahead of smoking but I did take the MCAS baked in high school... and I did so well I got a scholarship... haha. I hate the stereotype that all people who smoke are lazy and stupid.
well at the moment i'm doing my gcse's. i've been smoking more and also achieving higher , especially in r.s, you just write a load of bollocks really...
OW I STUBBED MY TOE! Neway...I started smoking my junior year in highschool. Went to a college prep school, took college level courses in advanced Biology, advanced Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and a class on Probability. I smoked more my senior year and those courses were takin my senior year (except the A&P course which i took my Junior year). I got a 3.12 GPA all together (because I sucked at my previous school), got an ok score on the SAT, a great score on the ACT, and got into a very good liberal arts college with a scholarship. I smoke way more now but I got my EMT liscense, so it really hasn't effected me a whole lot (as long as I am not studying while high). Goin to college next fall (I took a year off between highschool and college), so I'll see how I do there. GO WEED!
i do well in school; if i do get a bad grade it's just because i didnt put the effort into the assignment or test or whatever. as for academic intelligence, i recieved an academic scholarship for college, and believe that smoking has had no negative affect on my GPA at all.
My grades were never fantastic, but I didn't start smoking to about 11th grade, and I had been a total slacker since 7th when I didn't do some big science fair project and realised you could still easily pass by doing the bare minimum, so basically I just always got low grades in high level classes, then the odd classes where I did really good just for show on the report card. Oh well, I graduated 114 out of 176 and did nothing for almost 4 years of high school, and got into college, and never failed a class. I'm content with that. I did awesome on the SATs though, I only got in the 45th percentile for math(Math is the one thing I'm just plain bad at) but got in the 93rd for English, and apparently it evened out because my college interviewers response was "Your grades are all right, and you did really great in 2 honors classes(which I did) but your SAT score is extremly well."
I started smoking before high school. I graduated with a 4.14 from a private high school. Now at the University, I'm set to graduate in December with a BA in Politcal Science and a minor in Accounting. I currently am sitting with a 4.0. I don't smoke as much as I used to that's for sure, but I still smoke a few times a week. I love school and I love to learn especially classes in which I'm interested. The only time I remember not wanting to go to class was during a period of heavy coke use
hmm, I'm a junior in public high school. I've been smoking since the middle of freshman year. I currently have a 3.7GPA. I finished all my math credits last year after completing precalculus. I'm in all honors and AP classes besides my electives... In fact I got an A on my English mid-term, which was an essay about whether or not marijuana should be legalized
I think I graduated high school somewhere around 152 out of 350. 2.7 GPA, A+ scholarship. I never took the SAT because I went to college in state, but I got a 27 on the ACT with no calculator. I'm satisfied with that.
good shit, any Buisness side of degree's are pretty fuckin dificult, i was originally gonna go into marketing, but i decided against it because it was going to take too long, and it was going to be too Specific i went to UBC for 1 year and managed a 3.1 or somthing for that year which was good because UBC is fuckin harddd i'm now hovering around a 3.2 at a very reputable technical school
i never smoked when i was in high school, and used to get about an A- average. now i'm in second year university at mount allison, 3.8 GPA and smoke every day
