I have freckles. I think they have blended more with age. I didn't care for them when I was younger. I tried to bleach them out with lemon juice. My Grandfather said something to me I will never forget that made my feelings for freckles change. He said they give you character. Freckles can be very beautiful on a person. Not everyone has them.
i have a bunch on my arms and sholders the ones on my sholders are huge because they are from my sun poison bubbles from when i was younger
The first thing you should know about freckles is that they are harmless. They are just pigment cells (cells that contain color) that are contained within the skin in small batches. Freckles are usually tan or light brown, flat, and very small (smaller than the head of a pin). Sometimes they overlap and run together,Êso they may look larger. Being outside in the sun may help cause freckles or make them darker. People, especially kids, with fair complexions - lighter skin and eye color - are more likely to have freckles because there is less melanin (say: mel-uh-nin) within their skin. Melanin is a chemical produced by certain skin cells (called melanocytes) that helps protect the skin from sun damage by reflecting and absorbing ultraviolet (UV) rays. The more melanin you have in your skin, the tanner you look! People with fair skin have less melanin in their skin to begin with, so instead of easily getting an even suntan, they sometimes get freckles. Some people's freckles fade away almost completely in the winter just to return in the summer. Other people's freckles are permanent, don't change much with or without the sun, and can be seen year-round. The best way to prevent freckles from forming is to be careful when you go outside. Try these skin-safety tips: First, try to avoid being directly in the sun between 10:00 in the morning and 4:00 in the afternoon. This is when the sun's rays are the strongest. Second, use a sunscreen with an SPF rating of 15 or higher. The letters "SPF" stand for Sun Protection Factor, and the number rating gives you an idea of how much longer you can stay in the sun without getting sunburned. Make sure you get all the areas exposed to the sun - including the tops of your ears, your feet, and the places where freckles like to appear (face, arms, neck, and upper back). Reapply your sunscreen every 2 or 3 hours no matter how high its SPF rating is andÊafter you come out of the water if you're at the beach or splashing in the pool (even if your sunscreen is marked "waterproof"). Finally, wearing clothes that you can't see through can also help block out the sun's more harmful rays. If you already have freckles and want to get rid of them, there is no magic "cure" like rubbing lemon juice on your skin or erasing them with the eraser at the end of your pencil! Instead, try to remember that boy in Freckle Juice who was willing to buy a recipe just to get freckles. Although you may not like your freckles, someone else is probably wishing they were lucky enough to have some!
i too have freckles on my face, shoulders and some on my chest. I dont care much about them, i wish i didnt have them on my shoulders, but i have to say I'm growing to like them, although sometimes i really hate them. i agree with what it's been said about freckles, that they give you character, well i think it's quite true. I'd look funny without freckles on my face, it'd be like it isnt me anymore!!
I have some on my face but they're not that noticeable. They don't bother me b/c I don't ever think about them.
I love redheads with sheet white skin and freckles all over. I have them on my arms, shoulders, face, and back.
lol, kilgore, that sounds like me. i used to despise mine. i'm not crazy about them now, but there isn't much to do about it, i guess. i am trying to be careful to prevent further skin damage though. i am a militant sunscreen wearer.
oh my god, how i love freckles. especially that dusting across the nose and shoulders. makes my mouth water. i just wanna kiss 'em. they're so sweet.
I have a lot of my face, most people dont even notice them then one day thelyll be like "Whoa you have freckles".. I dont mind them.. ive seen people that their bodies are covered in them.
