Scientists achieve first experimental observation of the transverse Thomson effect

Its technobabble but, in the last few years, they've basically found several exceptions to 100 years old thermodynamics. In this particular case, they found a way to use a magnetic field to switch from cooling to heating, like a heat pump, that only require a magnetic field pulse to switch between the two.

India already created a thermal Maxwell's demon, but this suggests there are cheap easier ways to produce the same results using bulk materials. In other words, some metals may naturally make for superefficient heat pumps, and we can expect the AI to find them rather quickly. Stacking different materials with different thermodynamics, it should be possible to heat and cool your entire house for free, making solar power all that much cheaper.

It joins the now long list of awesome technologies the Pentagon is sure to delay coming on the open market. Among other things, physicists have discovered how to move heat 7,000x faster, and that technology can be used to cool every server to ridiculous temperatures, allowing them to pump even more electricity through them, to turn what are already supercomputers into super-super computers. It can also be used for solid state lasers, capable of shooting drones out of the sky faster than you can keep up with. Pop! Pop! Pop! Until WWIII is over, they will keep doling out the technology as slowly as they can. Give it another five years, for the current AI and quantum computers to catch up with reality.

Sounds like the old cold fusion. Next someone will say if you rub two certain types of rocks together it will produce an anti gravity field. I love it when people talk about things but can never give a real reference to the study or just say it's a conspiracy that is hiding the information.

Only the mass media took cold fusion seriously, as a way to make money. The sad truth is, after a century of quantum mechanics physicists produced the first model of ordinary matter, describing 500 distinct states, only to quickly find several new states of matter, that aren't in their model. All their models and theories are going down the toilet right now, and have been all along. They've been making it all up as they go along, for so long now, they're confronting an enormous pie-in-the-face.

Its the middle of WWIII and exactly what comes next is anyone's guess, but the brightest minds on the planet have discovered everything they know is bullshit. Their math is self-contradictory, and their own experimental evidence just keeps laughing at them. All of thermodynamics is being rewritten right now, because its related to quantum computing and, for the first time, we have the tools to easily measure such things.

DuPont will do the same thing that the petroleum companies did with fuel cell patents....buy them and bury them. DuPont makes a killing with refrigerant gasses....and uncannily finds out that they are bad for the environment exactly when when their patents run out - like with the R22, R12 refrigerants....their big solution was R410 and R134....funny....they're bad now, too....and they just happen to have some new replacements...

DuPont is Mafia enough to know when they're outclassed. This is physics, that 100,000,000 scientists read about, and even more engineers, and you could make these chips using legacy hardware, for a fraction of what it costs to make your laptop chips. Since the 1960s the electronics revolution has counted on the fact money can produce new fabrication methods for cramming more transistors onto a chip, but all that's about to change dramatically. Our digital computer chips have steadily become more analog and, in fact, the only reason we still use so many digital transistors on them is because they're cheap to make and easy to work with, but they've become much more expensive in recent years. AI are already designing electronic chips that resemble sculptures, and nobody has a clue how they actually work.
