:$ ok so i have been doing a little twisting and ripping these past few days and i had gotten my hair into some real nice knots at the roots. they were actually starting to look like dreads. so then i went out surfing today for about 2 hours and like most of them completely came out. i know they dont appear within days, but it was just making me mad.
SAME THING HAPPENED WITH ME...i went surfing and "ruined" 5 hours of backcombing...it sucks...then i went natural
Just put some rubbers in the ends the first months orso, when you go surfing, swimming or shower. But it sucks :$
first of all fuck you you ignorant son of a bitch. second i dont live in a hick town. i live at the beach, but there are a lot of hick towns in nc. and finally i can look like what ever the fuck i want to.
patience. all the wonderful people in this forum keep telling me that DD's hair has to come loose from the knots in order to dread... and it is finally starting to happen. when did you start your dreads?
not to worry, dude. that idiot ws banned You are not your location. Also, being 15, you don't really decide where you live. On top of that, there are nice and not so nice parts of every state/region/country. Don't sweat it. I grew up military and some places we lived in were small towns.
thanks for supporting me everyone, but i havnt combed my hair for like 3 months or so, but i really started washing it with dr. bronners soap like 2 weeks ago. i decided to give up the twist and rip method and do it mikeJH3 style. rub clockwise. i started like 4 days ago. so it should take some time
dont put bands in and have hope give it at least 8 months before you give up cos THATS when things will really start to form. mine at two and a bit years are now filling out propperly
I live in a hick town in nc and have dreads, I have had people love em and hate em. Why should where anyone lives be something to make fun of. Jamaicans arent the only people with locks, it is what most hair does naturally if you dont comb it.................
SV.. although yer now gone, i am sure you will be resurrected,,,,, ya sound like the hick folks from where i grew up n then lived as an adult for 13 yrs..... n quite frankly i did alot of what i did,,, to keep buzzards like you away.... gaum..in my few dreadies i have,,,, i beaded them,, now ya cant find the beads .. after five months ... but it kept them fairly clumped together when they needed a bit of outside support cuz of my water habits....
