Hey there, im 18 and just left my stay at college, a free person now probably going into full time work after summer break (september time). Question is, should I go into it now? Now I dont wanna sound like a lazy ass, but the thought of working full time over my holidays kinda makes me sad, I really want to enjoy these holidays and dont want to miss out on anything fun that my friends plan (their last summer before leaving for university too). I dunno why im like this haha, I've just got used to having the whole summer and having good times with friends, but then on the other hand I'd love to have lots of cash. It kinda makes me feel left out too when some of my friends say they actually would consider working full time over summer making it seem that there not bothered about having fun. Haha maybe im just a weird kid.

Well, if you can afford not working over the summer then do it. I would too if I just had the money but alas... I gotta work to pay the rent. Booo.

Another option is working part-time... you have your free time but you also get some money.

I would probably go insane if I didn't work full time... it keeps me occupied during the summer.

i work around 50 hours a week and still have time for fun with my friends. just make sure your job has hours that allow you to do so (for example, don't work nights if your friends tend to do fun things at night).

this way, you can have fun with friends, even if they do things that you have to pay for, and at least you have money to buy a new video game or some weed or whatever it takes to enjoy yourself while your friends are working

The thing is, I need a little bit of money for going out with them and stuff, and if I decide to go to a music festival or something, itd be nice to afford to go. Do you get money elsewere or do you just not need any?

umm...my parents give me. and my grandma. or I just take it from my account. my dad cant say no cause he doesnt live with us so he feels kinda guilty. so when I need money, I reproach him and he gives me what I want. :)
and my parents basically give me everything if I do good in school.
I have some really nice parents. and a lovely grandma from Switzerland.
