Hi, I'm a furry. I also like to dress up as my favourite animal, a fox. I only wear a tail and ears, and immediately, I got the whole long island of teachers demeaning my lifestyle choice of dressing up. It's a whole spiritual connection thing with animals, and dressing up allows me to express my inner animal. By only wearing a tail and ears, there shouldn't be an issue. I've allready had a detention for wearing it to one class, drama, where the issue takes place, and my second class, a threat for a detention. I will not take my costume off for one stinkin' class, especially since it's a non-uniform school. Bite me!
Well I have no idea exactly what a 'furry' is, but I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed in a non-uniform school. How do your parents feel about this? Would they be willing to go with you to talk to your principal about it? Maybe all that is needed is an explanation to understand that to you why you chose to dress the way you do. Schools can be afraid of non-conformity. A schools control of their student population hangs by a string, and it can easily be pulled away from them by a few obnoxious students. But that doesn't mean that the way you choose to dress is any threat to that.
Nope, only the ears and tail. What the hell is wrong with that? Well maybe Nike will start producing such things, then it would be ok. .... and wait a minute, the drama class? Or are you insisting on wearing these things in a play or something? In that case I could see why the teach would be like "no, the character doesn't have fuzzy ears and a tail", know what I mean? But, just being in class, that would make that drama teacher a fool in my opinion.
that sucks they give you crap, i used to wear cat ears all the time and draw on kitty eyeliner and no one had a problem with it.........
off topic but that's Naoto, a great artist. www.wwwcomcom.com if anything what a great web adress. And on to topic HonkeyTonk is just a prude.
It's a "disturbance". I see no problem with it not being allowed. If a furry wore their clothing to school at my school, for one it's against the dress code (no hats, chains, wildly colored hair, anything that could prompt bullying) but if it managed to slip by, chances are you'd become the laughing stock of the school. Most people DON'T understand nor would be willing to understand you're point of view, and you'd just become the girl (guy?) with the tail. School isn't a place to make a fashion statement, it's a place to learn...
LOL, how the hell did we go from wearing fox ears and a tail to banging stuffed animals? You're one sick puppy.
in the words of Chef . .. "children, theres a time and place for everything, and that place is college!!" there was never a gauruantee that life was fair when they handed out your birth certificate, and your school faculty is there to educate you in the art of conformity, not to cater to your wishes.
gee, I won't take off my dye for one stinkin' day at work, since we don't have uniforms... hahahahahahahahaha inner animal? this is continent adult wearing a diaper type speech. "i just like to feel pampered." quit being an obvious freak and get your education. Then head out and dress like a playboy bunny after school. I've known some FLAKES in my day and i think I'm boxing the cake for you!
Probably they decided that the ears were too much like a hat. And the tail, well... maybe there's a provision in the dress code for that. Even schools without uniforms have dress codes. Like someone said though, most other kids will just mock you for it... do you really want to subject yourself to that? If it's a truly spiritual connection, why do you have to wear the ears and tail to school? I mean, I know a lot of Christians who wear crosses, but they don't -have- to wear them every day, it's not a requirement for them to feel their spiritual connection.
W edont have uniforms but we have dress codes. Its not that bad. I dont know why youd go dressed as a fox or whatever though. And to be quite honest,I dont think its giving you a spiritual connection with animals.
