    Si. two of the nights.
I'm surprised Red Rocks is running shows that late. Snow at a "Dead" show? Could be! The earliest snow I remember in the Denver area was Oct 5 with sticking, but Sept. 28 for flurries.

Bought plane tickets and rented the car today.
Saturday is possibly our off-day, too.
I lived in the area for 10 years so I'm happy enough to have a daytrip day.

By snow, I'm thinking flurries. Thunderstorms are much less likely.
But be prepared for 70s to 30s for temperatures. Layers and a hat and gloves work.
Keep an eye on weather in the days before.

empty water bottles are allowed, and there are some water fountains inside.
Red Rocks has several entrances. and a cool visitors center (with a few Scramble Campbell paintings as of last September)
    food is pricey, plan accordingly.
But do NOT miss Das and his Hemp I Scream.
bring blankets and a tarp (cold, wet and hard benches can be fixed with them)
Be patient with others. Denver crowds are either wonderful or uptight pricks, and I swear it must be related to sunspots.
Be nice to the Morrison business folks. they make their year on RR shows.

A designated driver is a GREAT idea. I always see a lot of police lights post show. Police will direct traffic out onto I-70. Going right goes to Denver. Left goes west.
Parking is easiest in the large lots, and that's where Shakedowns spring up.

Usually security is pretty cool, the gig is prime, and they usually are heads themselves. the basic rule is keep the wide aisles clear.

    It is a magical venue.

it's not so furrrr away anymore ;)

now drumminmama or anyone with better sense than me, I have some questions regarding weather and what to pack!
I've been watching the weather for the past 2 weeks or so, and as of now I'm utterly confused about how to prepare in terms of clothes. Highs in the low 70s and then lows in the 40s/low 50s....this is all so confusing for a girl from the south.

i bought boots for this winter (i recently moved) so i was prepared for the cold this weekend but now i'm questioning whether or not to bring them.

has it been warm during the day and then drop drastically at night? i know i sound so stupid, but i'm frantic right now (more excited though):p. i tend to be cold always (in fact i tend to get chills in 80 degree weather sometimes), but when i'm dancing i get warm.

I have a dress i'm planning on wearing one of the nights it's long sleeves and i have leggings to wear under it...but my concern is it being warm at the start of the show (or at least by the time i get there) and then dropping 20 degrees during the show....

blankets will be had, but are boots ridiculous for the predicted weather (seriously i'm cold illiterate if you can't tell)

    any suggestions are welcome!

People usually say bring layers (t-shirt, long sleeve t, fleece, sweater, jacket of some kind, or some variation on that). I've learned that I can always not wear something I brought, but I can never wear something I didn't bring (I am smrt!), so I take a down jacket to most places in the winter ... snuggling down, so warm and cozy ... you'll look great no matter what you wear, so comfort first. I do a fair amount of wilderness trekking in CO and WY and I wear those brown cloth work gloves except on glaciers and serious snow - warm enough, cheap so who cares if they're lost. Have a a great trip.

TWAS magical, not as pleased with the set lists as I could have been, and really sad I missed out on Sunday's show because it sounds good! But no complaints honestly, perfect weather, as the rain missed us on Saturday evening, and not too cold and not too warm. BEAUTIFUL.

John really let loose and it was great to see. I've felt from the very beginning that he embodies Jerry's spirit and can honestly say I've felt Jerry at every Furthur show I've seen (six now). But even someone I know who hadn't truly accepted John yet, did after Friday's show. He carry's on the essence and there is no doubt in my mind that Jerry approves. It's nice to see Bobby give John some room to jam and stuff, because in the beginning I felt like John had to hold himself back, and I didn't like that.

I was not lucky enough or old enough to ever see Jerry, and I'm sure to some old Heads that makes my opinion a bit less valid, but seeing old Heads rock out this weekend, and I mean lose themselves was so magical- it confirmed the fact that Furthur, while not the Grateful Dead, does carry on TGD magic :)

it was my first time at red rocks, and I absolutely loved the venue! Watching Denver's lights sparkle in the distance and having the marvelous red rocks surrounding the music was beyond anything I could have expected.

GOOOOOD TIMES, Now I just don't know when I will get the chance to see Furthur again, kind of a scary thought for me.

I agree on John. He's such a gentle light. Not a ton of ego, but knows what he's good at, easily steps back for guests (i'm remembering his first New Years run at Bill Graham Civic SF).
I heard from my partner that Friday was a "colorado set" but I got the newer song about mountains on Saturday (I think).
Hey, I even sold a painting off my easel!
Saw friends in from Hawaii on night three.

what part of the venue were you at while you painted? Just curious I was in similar locations both Fri and Sat night. Congrats on selling a painting there :D

I set up in one of the "planters" with the juniper trees on stage right (audience left).
Warf Rats usually are one level below me.

On Saturday another painter, whom I do not know, was just above me working on what I think was a black and white painting.

Sunday, Scramble Campbell was stage left a bit higher than my set up. He's amazing.
