I'm not talking necessarily about gangs as they come across to a lot of people. I'm talking about a brotherhood, a pack of friends that are united as one.

We are no different from anybody else (in most cases)... We attend school, work, volunteer in the community, etc.

Me and my crew aren't part of the big gang movement, we're simply just a crew that watches over each other where we live.

My crew is the Market Street Mob.

Doesn't sound like your typical gang...

On a some what related note I was approached by a kid who could have been no older than 13-14 on my way in a 7-11 with friends, he cam at me real fast wearing all white with a red flag on his hip, some baggy jeans and fake diamonds in his ear. He asked if I would buy him some ciggs, I would normally say no but he pulled out a ten.

I took his money bought him his cigs and spent the remainder spare a few bucks on my own stuff. He looked like he was broken when he got the wrong change.

He said "man this isn't the right change."
I said "yeah i needed some stuff do you care?"

He looked up at me and say "shit I don't give a fuck"

Ahh good times...

Hey my friend... Reality is this:

Your 18... Perhaps your gang is not violent, and you guys are pretty cool people. I don't know you, so I won't judge.

However, at 18, when you hang around people who talk about crypts, and crews... you really need to think about where your going to be in 5-10 years. Will you be in med school? Harvard? or even working a decent job in an office or something that gives you a future? See, I would be more concerned about the mindset of these guys... When I was your age, I hung out with a group of folks that really were going nowhere.... do you think they wanted to see me get ahead of them? no, just like your homies... they wanted to hang and chill...

Being a pot forum, my best advice to you would be this.. at 18... Pack your bags this summer.. grab some weed, hit the woods, and just try and think what "YOU" not your gang wants in life... try to decide what you want to do, and what will make you and your future family happy... then just come home and do it yourself... be an individual.. You are one lucky fuck... your 18, and right now the world can be yours... at 38 - it will not be that way.

My 5 friends and I are always together, going to variouse activities together, and even cause property destruction once in a while (drunken antics). I guess we could be a gang, because like you said, we always watch over each other and help one another out if there ever is a need for assistance.

I think we're more of a crew then a 'gang' tho. I don't know what the difference is but wenever I think 'gang' I think stupid assholes that like to see others suffer.

Twizz, you're not a blood. You may wear a red flag, but you're not a blood. Were you beaten into it? Have you beaten someones ass, robbed someone, or been involved in some other sort of initiation? Or did you and your friends just up and decide to start wearing red flags? I'm guessing you just decided to start wearing red flags. I've know plenty of bloods/crips/folks/PLC's/sur 13's/BOE 23's and I can tell a gang member when I see one. You're no blood.
