Thanks! My natural color is actually darker. I dyed it a lighter brown before I started dreading.

Ha ha, yeah your hair color looks alot like mine. I just wish my hair would grow faster! I haven't had a haircut on almost 11 months! I don't plan on getting one anytime soon either.

 

i know!!! my hair won't grow, either. that sucks... and i don't know why. when i was younger it was growing really fast! but now i've been having the same length fot ages.

i've been debating starting dreads for awhile now.. i've got til my bangs grow out to decide

 

I would say do it. So far it has been one of the most enriching spiritual tools ... Like they say, "dreads aren't a hairstyle, they're a lifestyle."

 

Yeah mayn I know, thats the opinion I've gotten from all the dreadheads I've talked to. Its like their locks are more than just hair to em, its like a way of life. And that is the side that really appeals to me. But then I think, "what if I just get sick of em and then I have to shave my head?" =/ Cuz I am a person who bores easily. I dont think I would get bored of dreads tho, they are forever changing I actually think I probably will start em, I just have that little bit of doubt in my mind still.

 

You dont have to shave your head to get rid of them! MY friend Andrea just put her dreads to rest ... she cut it pretty short ... maybe 2 inches and then just used conditioner and a comb to get it out. But hey, I think you would look awesome bald.

 

hahahaha ya think? i dont really think that would be such a great look for me and yeah, i had a friend that did that too.. i look terrible with short hair tho.. haha. and i doubt if i ever got them that i would want to get rid of them.

hahaha aww thats awesome my mom would probably learn to love them but right now when I mention the idea to her, she gets so upset and says "But Heather, you are such a beautiful girl.. why do you want to do that to yourself."

I just laugh and say, "Mom, its just hair, I'll look just as pretty with em"

 

Thats hilarious ... my Mom said the same thing pretty much. She said somthing like ..."You have such nice hair, why do you want to ruin it?!" ha ha I love them though .... they are just as much a part of me as my arms and legs.

 

i've mentioned getting them to my mom...she's not very pleased. I really would love to get them but...even cutting my hair a little bit short scares me. i love my long hair...but i also love dreads.hmmm...what to do...:S
