Greetings all! I had Yoga in high school last year but have not done it since then. I recently did a quick bout of it in my Stress Management class at college and remembered that i really liked it and want to get back to it because im having a very hard time in my life right now. Since i have had practice before, i was thinking maybe just buying some tapes? (My mum used to have some of rodney yee's but i dont know where they are). or would going to a class be better, even though i already know how to do the basics. What do you all think?
Well, I prefer tapes to classes. Generally speaking, the class would have an instructor, which is good, but I just don't feel comfortable doing yoga and meditating with a bunch of people I don't know, and with an instructor who criticizes what I do. I prefer to look at the tapes, calmly, in my own living room, and learn it at my own pace. It actually ends up being faster than classes for me. Try finding those Rodney Yee, he's a great instructor. His power yoga series has a very good approach (the only time I've seen it explained better is in David Swenson's tapes).
