Although I don't agree with circumcision, or any kind of bodily mutilation come to that, at least it's your choice, and that's the way it should be.

It is your choice, but you should evaluate your reasons for choosing that. Like a woman getting breast implants to please some guy's expectations - not a good reason. Is this really for your aesthetic or for your GF.

Only in North America is circumcision so common. You go to other cultures and foreign countries - like Miami - you will find that the majority of men are uncut.

And of those uncut men that I have encountered here, I have been told to take it easy. They are so sensitive to touch on the penis that just the ministrations of my tongue was too much stimulation. You do lose sensation after you remove the protective skin that nature provided. Your glans becomes keratonized, meaning layered with thicker skin to compensate, similar to a calous.

Again, at least it is your choice. Not like your parents mutilated your body as an infant (where is child protection when babies need it?) But consider all the facts presented here and evaluate your real reasons for wanting this. It is gone forever.

PS. I forgot something. If you are too lazy to slide that skin back in the shower and wash it, by all means cut it off!

I am a cut woman, but unlike your gf I am not a witch. From what I've heard, yes, your sensibility does come a bit loose.

even many doctors and rabbis have spoken out against circumcision. i suppose it's one thing if a male of adult age consciously chooses to get his foreskin clipped off. but it's a complete act of barbarism to force such a thing on a baby

Hayaz -I got circumcised at birth, and don't regret it. I got a "loose cut" circumcision, leaving most of the foreskin on the penis, but with enough cut off so that it naturally sits behind the glans. I can pull the remaining foreskin entirely over the glans when soft, and two thirds over when hard.
You should insist on a "loose cut".

The circumcision is done with a local anaesthetic, and you feel nothing during the operation. The doctor will give you instructions as to how to take care of your new penis after the operation during the healing. There are several new procedures which may be available - inquire about a prepuceoplasty, which does the operation in a different way. Google the word if you want more information.

The smegma secreted to lubricate the underside of the foreskin and the glans has to be cleaned regularly off the uncut penis when showering, but dries and drops off the cut penis and you don't even notice it. The glans of the cut penis does have less sensitivity than the uncut penis, but this is not a big deal - a study done recently in Africa of a large sampling of uncut men with sexual experience who were cut and then questioned two years later found no lessening of satisfaction from sex.

The extra sensitivity of the uncut glans can also lead to a greater incidence of premature ejaculation. The foreskin also may not retract fully when the penis is erect, and a circumcision may be called for to correct this problem to have a normal sex life. Also, the foreskin may sneak back over the glans on the outthrust, which mimics how uncut guys masturbate, but I believe (and a study I did supports) that many women like the feel of the coronal ridge of the glans as it frictions back along the vaginal tunnel on the outthrust.

So, go for it. You will like what you see and feel after it is done. 120 million guys in the U.S. have had it done, and most of us have no regrets.

Dont do it unless its neccesary, it severly reduces the sensitivity of your penis head, i can assure you.
I was circumsized at age 14 because all the porn i saw and friends i saw had cut penis', so i wanted to be cut to fit in, BIG MISTAKE
    Don't do it.

There are very few people in this world who have sat on both sides of the fence, so i can diffinitively tell you that uncirc'd is better.

    Been Both!!

the day i zipped up my foreskin (kinda like the something about mary scene.) i made an instant decision that it had to go.

its a tough decision but it was well worth it. cleaner more comfortable.

yes you will loose some sensitivity however the intensity of cumming does not happen in the foreskin .... for me anyway

We all had no choice who our parents are, or where we were born, or how much money we had growing up. Circumcision is a choice that parents make for their sons based on their doctor's advice, or based on cultural or religious preferences. Some Daddies like their boys to "look like them", and if you come from a culture where most of the boys are circumcised, it is the norm. If not, then it need not be done unless dictated by religious or health reasons - there is a looming issue that being uncut may make one more susceptible to STDs.

Advice ? Don't do it. I'm not and I'm glad. I couldn't imgine losing all the sinsitivity and sensation. Contrary to any polls or studies that only display the thoughts of a small group of people which are then inflated to seem like they represtnt the majority , it's really not that big a deal. Every girl I ever had sex with never had a problem with it.

The only thing that can make Mr. A's penis cleaner than Mr. B's penis is his cleaning routine. Regardless of which one is circumcised. But if won't even take the time to pull the skin back and wash your dick properly , maybe you should get circ'd. Personally I've never had a problem with cleanliness. If you shower/bathe at least twice a day , you will produce less schmegma. With me it got to a point where I have to go without showering for 3 or 4 days before i have any build up. Your diet also has a direct on teh odors that originate from all parts of your body. Besides , it's there for a reason. I think mother nature knew what she was doing.

    But that's just my $0.02

I can see you're an advocate for the procedure.
There's lots of evidence to suggest that natural is better AND healthier.
I also think think that "wanting your kid to look like you" is not a good enough reason to cut off some of their genitalia. Being from America, I know that being circumcised is the norm here, but that's not a good enough reason either, in my book.

You know, women are circumcised in some countries, for the same reasons men are here, but no one in America is advocating that. It's all mutilation to me.

I am an advocate for neonatal circumcision, and circumcision later on if dictated for health reasons or an inability to fully retract the foreskin once the boy reaches 18 or so and cannot retract it. I also strongly favor a "loose cut" circumcision which leaves much of the foreskin intact, but it sits behind the glans at all times. There is little difference between this style of penis and an uncut penis except that it is cleaner - smegma does not collect under the foreskin, but dries and drops off. It is also healthier, as recent studies in three African countries and in New Zealand have shown that there is a greater than 50% chance of getting an STD if uncut.

Studies in Africa of sexually experienced men who got circumcised as adults and were asked about their sexual satisfaction uncut and cut have shown that there is no difference. In America, there is also an expectation among most white females that their men will be circumcised. Less so for Hispanic, Asian and black females.

Circumcision of women is much different - it involves cutting off the entire clitoris to lessen sexual desire - the equivalent in men would be cutting off the entire glans. Female circumcision is banned in many countries today.

and those set of studies done by one research group conflict with MANY observational studies that routinely showed no difference. why 50% better in one set and no difference in a dozen or so other studies including ones by the army. the same group that found such a huge difference initially did observational studies and found NO DIFFERENCE but the lead researcher was set out to prove it, those in africa they circumcised some males and potentially received much more information about std's and such as well as the behavior change after being cut, NO OBSERVATIONAL STUDY HAS EVER SHOWN ANY PREVENTION OF HIV, EVER, and in this type of situation observational studies are the most accurate as nothing influences their behavior

you are also listing the most severe form of female circumcision, in many circumcisions of women only the clitoral hood is removed, which is the same as the foreskin.

for cleanliness, we have running water, let's drop this cleanliness talk, you wouldn't cut off eyelids to prevent eye gunk would you?

male circumcision is designed to be damaging
    http://www.nocirc.org/touch-test/bju_6685.pdf
the parts removed are 4 times more sensitive, you say it may not matter now, but will it in 20 years?

the sorrells fine touch study shows that the most sensitive parts of the penis are removed in circumcision, and it fits with why circumcision became popular in the victorian era, to reduce masturbation

finally from my foreskin restoration I can say from what I was able to get back the sensation has been remarkable, having the skin glide is a huge plus and need no lube most of the time, when before it was a necessity

for the female circumcision, women are the ones practicing it for the same reasons men practice male circumcision here

it was legal in the U.S. till the 90's, and actually covered by some health providers in the U.S. till the 70's
