Hey all, I was a member here back when I was 16/17 and was fairly active in the community. I am now 21, and have always wanted to do my own thing on a large piece of land, pretty much "roughing it" in the wild. I have noticed that there are many like-minded people on these forums, but the real problem is that there is no true organization to it all. Maybe we could start a Facebook group for this type of thing, and then go from there? I want to see everyone succeed and live their dreams, but don't think it's going to happen if we don't get organized and truly try to learn and apply these principles to our goals. I don't know how to go about this exactly, I'm actually supposed to be sleeping right now because I have class in the morning. I just wanted to throw it out there and see what kind of response I got. i feel the same way. i just ordered the complete encycolpedia to country living. i think that should cover alot of things. I also just moved up to kentucky because my family has some property so i hope to be building something by this summer.
People are organized, you just have to look in the right place. Check out wwoof.com or ic.org. Theres lots of unorganized people on there but there are a few organized. Also getting strangers in a facebook group to pitch in on a 90,000$ piece of land is stretching it a bit. Im not trying to kill your buzz, these places already exist.
