They definitely don't, which is why all the alcoholics cash their unemployment checks right at the liquor store.
So are you implying you have a primary source of income you don't declare on your taxes that keeps your bank account pretty fat? And you want to apply for unemployment? Congratulations, you just lowered yourself to the level of a fat, greasy welfare queen with 7 illegitimate children that sells crack and prostitutes herself. If you are asking because you seriously need welfare, I apologize.
they do not have access to your bank account unless you authorize EFTs.. in that case they do have your account info and technically could see info. but i don't trust the gov't to begin with so they probably have access anyway.
What the hell, the entire point(well one of the main points) of unemployment is so people don't have to destroy their savings. Hence why we all pay into it. And no they don't check your bank, everyone is allowed to collect unemployment even if you get laid off with $400,000 in your bank account
This....... Unemployment is not welfare. You already pay for unemployment, it's the right of working people to get that money if you don't have a job. I thought at one point that getting unemployment was the same thing and did not get it but it's already your money.
Employers pay for it by being taxed. If you are fired, or quit your job, you can't get un-employment ins. Unless you can prove to a D.E.S. Adjudicator that you were wrongfully discharged, or harrassed into quitting. In Az. anyway. Extended benifits are paid by Federal, and State. Only food stamps etc. ask about your money situation for eligibility. If you work or earn any money while on un-employment and don't report it, you'll be disqualified.
No You pay into your own unemployment and so does the company that laid you off... They call it unemployment insurance...
your cost of attendance may be adjusted but not by that much. you will have to claim gov't assistance on taxes.
Food stamps are based on the amount of your income/income coming into your household, aid use for college won't apply as it's not disposable income that can be spent on meals. If you live at college though, food stamps are probably going to be out of the question.
If you are talking about receiving income while on unemployment, you are probably breaking a law by not reporting it and not stopping your unemployment benefits. Wiki has a pretty good article on this that summarizes the concept to a middle school level. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unemployment_compensation#United_States Employers pay the taxes that support this program. Don't abuse it. Honestly, I can't take this anymore. jmt, I've seen some of your past threads you did for the lulz and I get the impression you are no idiot and would not ask for unemployment advice in the SL. Please tell me you are just fucking with us so I do not feel even more depressed about people in this country being so afraid of the phrase "personal responsibility".
am asking because i really cant find a job and by march i should be about to apply again at the hospital where i should be doing economically better if i get the job.. btw its only 100 dollars for I hope a week I'll be getting from the Unemployment people... I really do need the bread,,,
if you have any kind of income that is on the books, the gov't WILL find out whether or not you report and you will be prosecuted..they do take that shit seriously. if you get income and it's under the table and you don't report.. well.. that's your call dude..
