Ghost Hunters vs Ghost Adventures

Which do you prefer, and why? ......what did you guys think of Ghost Lab when it was on?

I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's opinion on these spooky shows!

 

I have no view at all on the shows, not having a TV

But I find the whole concept of "ghost hunting" rather bizarre. Why would anyone want to ? Leave them alone, unless they start causing problems.

It also seems to me that a ghost hunt is the most likely way to get rid of any ghosts in the area ! Not that they go into hiding or anything, but the mindset of the hunters is likely to be unconducive to tuning in to the ghost's frequency.

There's also the possibility that the hunters might unwittingly manufacture phenomena through their expectations.

 

it tends to depend on the "hunter" as to whether or not it encourages or discourages ghostly visitations

i enjoy both shows - it gives me an opportunity to explore paranormal sites from the comfort of my living room for a change....and my ghosts seem to enjoy watching them, too

 

I really enjoy seeing them go places I have been on my own ghost hunting trips! lol

 

That reminds me...I was going to ask this local group of ghost hunters if I could go along with them to some sites...

 

Do you collect ghosts, or do they just show up in your house?

 

They're all fake and stupid.

 

ghosts seem to gravitate to my house, sometimes it's like grand central station on the astral plane, lol....

i'd definitely recommend going on a ghost hunting trip at least once - find a good site and it can be quite the experience!

....and, Irminsul, if you think these shows are fake and stupid, why even bother to comment? it was certainly not the topic of this thread, but i'm sure there's probably one out there to suit your critical tastes

 

Actually, the topic was which of these shows do you prefer ?...so Irminsul's comment does fall within the parameters - an opinion that they're all rubbish.

I wouldn't go quite that far myself, not having seen any of them, but I must admit I have doubts about the whole concept, as expressed earlier.

 

im pretty sure she was asking for one or the other, thus the "vs" and not so much of the genre in general.... so yeah, idk if thats the definition of versus in your parameters but it is how the post is titled!

 

I haven't heard of Ghost Adventures, and have seen only a little of Ghost Hunters. But, we have Most Haunted over here, which I have seen quite a few of and find it pretty interesting.

 

i like the locations they visit in Most Haunted - they investigate some wonderful ancient sites!

the shows i mentioned do most of their investigations in the US - you can find episodes on youtube if you ever want to check them out

and, on a side note - samson is correct - i was asking which show peeps liked better, not if they liked these sorts of shows or thought they had any validity; if that were the case, i would have titled my thread "are these shows for real?" or something along those lines

 

Yeah, there was one where they went to Capuchins' Catacombs in Italy, which was pretty amazing, albeit slightly strange!

I will have a look at them and then get back to you on which I prefer

 

wow, that sounds great! i love ancient catacombs, and will have to keep an eye out for that episode

i'm surprised we've not seen many investigations of the sewers of Paris - bring it on!

One in Paris would be brilliant! I might have to go and do it myself!

 

the season premiere of ghost hunters was on last week and i missed it, arrgh!!! .....good thing they rerun those like crazy

also, the season premiere of ghost adventures is finally scheduled for sept. 17th - can't wait!

 

I prefer Ghost Adventures.
Most Haunted gets a little bit annoying with the way the one person always seems to get possessed. Most Haunted was my favorite until Ghost Adventures. Now it seems a little bit boring for me.

I'm thinking maybe its more the three hot guys vs. females and guys. Yup, I am thinking thats it!

 

Ghost Hunters did a great investigation last night at the Lemp Mansion in St. Louis....

....one word - Atlantis - man, that was cool!

and tomorrow night, the Ghost Adventures crew revisits Bobby Mackey's - this should be interesting....better bring some Bactine, Zak!

 

gotta love ghost adventures
they don't have a fancy crew team, just simple three guys who are funny and out there

 

Bobby Mackey is one creepy dude... what is it that makes a man look at a former slaughterhouse and think "I gotta buy this place and play my music here"?


It was good to show that too much playing with creepy can weird a person out badly, the ghost hunters show makes it seem like waving an EMF around is all there is to it sometimes. Of course, the GAC may be a little more predisposed to weirding out!
