I'm such an ascetic. I am eating a delicious Wendy's frosty right now, and I realized I don't do this kind of thing often enough. Had a busy day and felt like giving myself a little something. How is it for you? Do you give yourself small little presents often? What are they? In which situations? How do they make you feel?
All the time. I eat a lot of chocolate. I often buy books on amazon, or CDs. Or if I don't have a lot of money i'll buy cheaparse clothes from op-shops. Regardless of money I might go for a walk in a beautiful place or hang out with a friend.
I do not consider it a present, I simply go and devour that damn spicy buffalo chicken sandwich and don't think too much of it. On man, those are so damn good when they're fresh.
You guys are confusing self-indulgence with gift-giving. I'm saying, after a hard day's work--- to give yourself something NEW as a REWARD. Not something that you're hooked on and consume over and over again to escape the void.
I do that. If my work day has been particularly fruitful I buy myself a package of Goya Dulce de Leche wafers. That and dark chocolate are my only vices. Oh, and the occasional crack rock. Yeah.
I think rest is the best thing to give yourself as a reward, but ehh... I don't really base my life on a reward system. I guess that smoking a bowl after a full day could be constituted as a reward though.
no...I fulfill my every wish whatever indulgences I feel like at the moment so nothing seems like a self-gifted item ): My husband does get me suprises all the time...somtimes it's a tiara, sometimes a coach bag or sometimes a magazine and frozen yogurt and lottery ticket crossword puzzles lol. You never know with him. It's fab
Sure, peace to you too. Firstly, I'm working my butt off to get off to university next year and do some travelling. Secondly, existence is a difficult job in itself. If I wanted to shield myself from the void I would drink more, or watch a lot of TV.
You've misinterpreted my post. I haven't judged you in any way. I just wanted to point out that I'm not talking simply about things that we like, and that we indulge in. I'm talking about the little things we give ourselves ad hoc- after being up against it in some unusual way or another. That's all---.
I'm not talking about "my way" vs. "your way." I'm talking about different things that we all do. There is a difference between consuming something we like as a habit (that for the record, is systematic) and giving ourselves a one-time-only special gift when we really pulled off something good.
Because a wendys is such a special, rare, one of a kind thing that you just can't get anywhere! Deciding I want to buy an album by a band i've been researching because i've been working hard and feel I deserve some more cool music in my life is a logical and well thought out decision and is not habitual in any way. Just because I like doing it, and do it a lot, doesn't make it systematic. I'm sorry for being argumentative, but it started with you. Just accept that we have different ways of rewarding ourselves. We understand you but don't agree, you dig foo?
baaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaa omg I can't stop laughing. I do see both of your guy's points though. *passes the joint*
You're such a dick and I don't think I like you, but you are sooooo funny that I forget you are a dick and no longer dislike you that much.
this past spring is the first time in 4 years i really splurged on myself...i wouldnt even call it splurging...just buying shit i wanted to buy out of necessity...im done spending my money on women for awhile i think...
