This got moved to the Men's Forum - where posts go to die (e.g. never be read) so I'm crossposting here.

Tables are finally being turned! Thanks to affirmative action and "let's make sure everything is geared to women..."

    Here are some sobering facts:

    • Men, whose average life expectancy was formerly on a par with women, are now dying 10 years earlier.
    • Boys have inferior reading and comprehension scores and lower graduation rates than girls.
    • Men are much less likely to pursue secondary degrees and university graduate programs.
    • The suicide rates for boys, young fathers and older men range from four to 10 times higher than for their female counterparts.
    • According to Dr. William Pollack of the Harvard Medical School Center for Men, the general health of American males is in a state of serious crisis.
    • Men spend more and more time at work, as compared to women in similar full-time jobs, and they engage in considerably more demanding and dangerous career choices.
Those are just a few of the findings of a report of the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Men, one of several state panels convened to re-evaluate assumptions about the role of men in society.

    You sick bastard.

    I love it.

As a matter of fact I challenge someone to write a womyn's studies proposal on why we need to do exactly that. It would be a hoot.

"Well you see, if we were more empowered men would kill themselves less."

In my opinion, feminism has done more to exploit women (unbeknownst to them) than anything. Feminism has made women slaves to the corporate world instead of full-time caregivers to their families, which is their natural role in the world. Feminism believes there is something wrong with women putting priority over family instead of capitalism and materialism. Feminism believes that women need to lose their natural femininity and be more like men, which they have become.

There was once a time when most women would stay home and care for the family. Today, this is rare. Today, it's considered normal for both parents to work while their children are raised and indoctrinated by the state. Meanwhile, since both parents are working, this means double the tax money the government receives. The establishment can thank much of this to feminism, which has helped shape society into what it is today.

Then people laugh when I say that feminism was funded by the Elite, and that frauds like Gloria Steinem were on the CIA payroll. It was the CIA who funded Steinem's Ms. Magazine. This is a documented FACT, which Steinem even admits herself in her autobiography.

I am not saying it's wrong for women to be part of the corporate world if that's what they truly want. If women chose not to have kids or get married, that's their choice. I support freedom of choice more than anyone. I just think it's important for people to know how much of what we consider "normal" and "good" is what we have been conditioned to believe is normal and good by the powers that be. Think of who stands to gain from all of it.

    I agree, Rat.

Although, in lower income families, women worked right along side the men long before the fight for feminism came to be. But these were also NOT the women that started to movement. The movement was started by well-to-do women with no time on their hands because they couldn't get into college and didn't want to get married.

And very well, women should have the opportunity to go to college and have careers. But for the other section of women in this country, WE WANT TO STAY HOME!

I know I do. I have my entire life to get my career going. My brain won't ever rot. But I have a small section of my life in which it's okay and healthy for me to get pregnant and give birth. And those, surprisingly, happen when I'm SUPPOSED to be in college. And why do I have to be in college? Because society thinks I should be.

No. My husband and children come first. My husband deserves to come home to a nice, clean home and a good meal. My children deserve to be educated by their parents and taught better how to deal with society. Why should both Brian and I work all day, just to come home and do all the housework that should have been done in the daytime? And still try to find time to parent our children? Not going to happen.

So why shouldn't one stay home with the children, clean the house, and keep order going? It's a full-time job in and of itself. So by the time hubby comes home, we can both relax and spend time with our children. THAT WORKS.

And the great thing about that scenario is that the man doesn't have to stress so much about things, he's being fed good food, and is allowed time to destress everyday, so that in the end, he's healthier. A woman, in nurturing mode, is going to make sure that her husband is well-cared for.

dave would love for me to go back to work part time. i'm going crazy here and it would be a HUGE benefit to my mental health. i was a hapier person when i had a specific framework to maneuver in. but it depends on my girls. if i can do it without them suffering, i'll do it pretty soon. but my staying home with our babies was something we both agree was good. so i left the workforce. and while i adore my sweet daughters, i have to say that i like time away from them, too.

mens health is worse because men in general make worse decisions about their health... smoking, drinking and takign drugs more... not relaxing enough, not seeing a doctor when they should, etc.- notice i did say in general but still...
    whos fault is that?

Not relaxing enough: HA! Guy comes home, tries to relax, it's "can't you pick up around here?"

Not seeing a doctor: 1) they're useless and 2) sorry, CAN'T GET TIME OFF WORK. Honey I gotta work or we don't eat.

or perhaps SOME are more masculine because they're just not feminine women. people are who they are. femininity is often a facade. some women just choose not to pretend.

well, some women get used to being treated like pets and think their only worth is in their looks and ability to get men to do for them. then they get older and their men haven't ever been loyal because they married a piece of ass...sucks. and yeah, i've done pretty well manipulating men into doing what i want. buti saw how shitty it was and how muc hnicer it was to do for myself. at least then i could change my own tire and not have to deal with someone thinking i was gonna sleep with them if they bought me dinner.

yeah, I'm not a very feminine woman. I know about cars, can change my own tires, do my own tune-up if need be, am handy with tools, and all of that jazz.

I don't wear dresses. I don't wear make-up or shave. I sit like a guy most of the time. Hair's up in a ponytail with jeans and a t-shirt on. That's just my normal style.

But I come from a very antiquated southern background where women were mostly at home, at least until the children went to school. And you know what? It worked! So as long as there is no abuse or anything in the household, I totally think that someone should be home with the kids. It's not sexism to do what's right for your family.

HF: How good for this society that a tire-changin pants wearing girl is like "you go girl!"

Whereas a guy who is in touch with his feminine side is probably gonna be tied to a five bar gate and have his life ended with a tire iron.
