Wattaya at by? The above sentence may confuse you, but it is a common phrase said among the inhabitants of St.Johns Newfoundland, my home. After reading alot of shit on the MJ forums, particularily the busted forums, I've decided to tell you a few stories and some information about my home. Newfound land is an island furthest east of canada and was once and still is(though significantly less) one of the richest areas for fishing. When first discovered explorers arrived,they had only to put their nets out of their boats to catch all the fish the crue could possibly eat. Though the richly popular fishing area has been exploited by pretty much every contry including its own, there are still a significant amount of money in the fishery of our province. Well sorry to bore you with that but alot of people if they've ever even heard of newfoundland assume we live in igloos. Maybe you've heard of it? In down town St. Johns, on George street is the bigest area of bars and pubs per square feet in all of North America(Go to wikipedia if u dont belive me). To make things clearer with out having to explain alot of boring stuff think of this: A bunch of fisher men living on a amazingly large fish populations and bars everywhere, now think of like 100 years later and thats what its like living here. We've got VERY relaxed drug laws laws, its not amsterdam now but cops will often turn a blind eye to underage drinking/weed smoking and even if they do pursacue you theres not much that they can do. I;ve read shit here about people getting busted for smoking weed in school and get like kicked out of school and get there cars searched by cops. (In newfound land if u were surprised by this statement u'd say YES BYY""). Not here, the other day a dude was caught with 40 E pills in his locker, 5 days later hes back in school and his case isn't for mounths and mouths, time enough to flee to alberta where his dad is. Man in my school theres about 2-5 drug dealers selling weed to popel who will then smoke it and go back to school and no one has ever been SERIOUSLY in trouble, maybe a 5 day suspension? I could go on and on and on about it but i dotn know if people will read this. Please comment or ask questions or tell me how us newfies should stop the horrible seal hunt in whihc we club seals and carry them off the ice by way of hook and chain.
