i am used to crummy n.j. weather. what's crummy san fran weather like? i'll be doing a lot of walking. do i need sweaters? light weight stuff? what kinda shoes? hiking boots? hmm...never been out there before. any quick responses would be excellent.
chilly like wool coat, or chilly like denim coat n lots of layers? i'm trying to avoid bringing my wool coat cuz it's bulky.
i live about an hour n a half from S.F. it gets super foggy there and rains a lot.. there are tons n tons of hill so yeah, definately comfy shoes
What are you, 3? Do you need me to come over and pack your Power Puff girls back pack for you or something. Geez.
layers.. it's not been too bad. in the 50's as far as weather wise. raining today and probably tomorrow. i was there last week. all the tourist were wearing too much and carrying umbrellas.. it never rained that day and i only had on 2 shirts and a sweater, jeans.. no shoes and was just fine.
yea, layers, that's the best way to go, you can always tie a sweater around your waist if it gets too warm. angel
Light weight raincoat with a hood + sweater. There are lots of puddles everywhere so boots are a good idea. You never know what the weather's going to be like in central cal from moment to moment this time of year so I'd bring an umbrella and sunglasses.
I lived across the golden gate bridge from the city for awhile. wear clothes for windy weather. pants. and definately only the comfiest shoes. dont dress to be "in california" cause norcal is way different. it really all depends on what part of the city you're in. I'd say wear pants, and a tshirt. and have a wind breaker. and do go to ameoba records. its my favorite store.. avoid chinatown. err i hate that street..
or you could just wait till you get here and cruise the thrift stores. SF has great thrift stores. You'd be taking a chance though.
Coming from NJ, you should be good for the cold. The wind's the thing that'll get you. Pretend your going to Chicago, but the snow melted before you got there.
On the other hand you could be pleasantly surprised. I'm in Santa Cruz (about 80 mls south of SF) and it was like spring here yesterday. Until the storm came in. Right now it's sunshiny and mid 60s.
oh my ganesha! amoeba DID NOT have the cd i wanted.. i was soooooo disappointed. gonna hit up the one in berkeley .. maybe this week and see if they have it
