gonna start selling tomorrow

for my first time. anyone with experience (actual experience too, none of this "i sold a nickel to a friend one time" kinda horseshit) have any advice? like, mostly concerning keeping "customers" happy, and safety and shit....

i plan to get one of those p.o.s. tracfones, and i plan to use 3 or 4, maybe 5 middle-men, instead of having everyone come to me. those 3 or 4 people always come to my house anyways, so I figured if I did that nothing would look out of the ordinary. and if in any certain circumstances should I need to get it to somebody, I would just have them meet me at a park a few blocks away.......any suggestions?
i'm literally quitting my job so I can sell full-time, so I want everything to go as smoothly and safely as possible. I'm not giving up a year and a month at a steady job (that pays SHITTY I might add) just so I can end up in jail......

 

don't smoke up your own supply, don't sell what you wouldn't smoke and dont front shit to no one, and like snocbor said weight it correctly. Good luch and please be safe.

Just remember, you're in charge. Do things your way. It's giving in to pushy customers that will get you caught. Set solid boundaries, and know when to cut your losses.

 

correct me if I'm wrong (i literally made a 32 in algebra for the entire year), but here in lubbock, pounds cost $300. and ounces here sell for $60. so, therefore, when I buy a pound, I'm paying $18.75 per ounce, and making $41.25 of profit every time I sell an ounce. At this rate, after selling 5 ounces, I should have made enough money to re-up, leaving me with 11 ounces to smoke should I want to, right?

best way ive found is to just be a distributor, not a dealer. dont have customers

if you have 2-3 guys you know and trust, toss them a pound at a time, tell them what YOU expect to get from that, and let them deal with the rest. they wanna sell high they make more money, or keep the extra, whatever. shouldn't matter to you.

you wont have to worry about making customers happy, weighing proper bags, dealing with people, etc etc

all you gotta do is hand off a little bit of weight every now and then, and colloect money

I can kinda break down the dealer types of my area, I'm just wondering what you are.

Dealers that actually sell, buy big amounts, weigh sacks and sell.
Dealers that sell the mass amounts to those people.
"dealers" that get the money, go to a dealer, then buy the bud and take it to the person whos buying. Usually taking a bowl or a little money to make profit.
Growers who sell their own stuff.

if you live in a small town, make sure you ask around about someone before you sell them bud. I've seen someone get arrested because he sold to a kid who got caught with it by his parents and ratted the kid out.

be a friendly person, if someone buys off you a lot, maybe you could smoke a bowl with them the next time they buy.

I don't know if you have a car or not, but dont charge stupid "gas money". I fucking hate buying from people who charge you for gas.

^^well, I'm sort of planning to mix a little of that, as well as selling a bit myself. I want to have 4 or 5 of my friends let everyone they know that they know where to get it, and just end up dealing with my 4 or 5 friends, instead of a lot of people I'm not familiar with. Lubbock is extremely dry as far as pot's concerned right now, so as soon as the word gets around that it's here, I'll be able to get rid of it within 2-3 days. I don't have a car right now, just got repo'd last week, so i'm without wheels, but my friends come over all the time anyways, so I wont really ever have to leave my house. The reason I'd prefer not to just give someone else the entire pound and have them sell it, is because I'm going to be using the money I profit out of this to pay my half of the bills, as well as re-up or however you spell it. I'm a decently paranoid person by nature, so I'll wanna look at this every angle possible ya know? really can't afford to go to jail, but could totally use the quick extra cash....

 

the reason i say just give them the bud to sell is that when someone goes to them for bud, they are going to either:

bring the person to your house, which is a NO NO, and should not be considered at all

or

take the money from the customer, bring it to you, pick up the bud, and then deliver it to the customer

or

pick up the bud from you, deliver it to the customer, then bring the money back to you

either way its a very inefficient way of operating. the more moving around of product you have, the more chance there is to get caught. those countless drives back and fourth with bud and money not only increase the risk of getting caught by a huge amount, they also are going to burn up gas.

im assuming these guys are getting a cut if they are doing all this running around for you, so to be worth while to them they are going to want a bigger cut to justify all the time/effort/risk/gas money involved. if they keep a zone on them at any given time, they can just sell it all off directly, come back to you with money and get another zone. its WAY less work for THEM to do it my way, and WAY less work for you too. win win situation

buy low and sell high, if you already bought low, sell higher to your "agents" but still lower than street price. Then they will sell higher, you get your profit, they get theirs.

let me put it this way, if someone came to you and said this:

"hey man when someone tells you they want bud come pick up the shit, bring it to them, and then bring me back the money"

would it sound better than this:

hey man here is an ounce, sell it to anyone looking for some. when its gone, bring me back 50 bucks and i'll give you another ounce. i dont care how much you sell it for, or to who, i just want the 50 bucks out of it, and you can work it any way you want.

i gotta tell ya, if you dont trust these people enough to give them weed up front, and bring back your share of the cash when they return for more, you should not involve them in this at all. I understand you dont want to go to jail, but im telling you this way there is less risk of getting caught than having people running around all the time picking up and dropping off money and weed

and from the sounds of it, weed there is really cheap compared to what most people around the country pay. $300 a pound? thats a tiny tiny investment compared to what most would have to start out with. in most places good weed sells for 150-300 an OUNCE (being VERY general here) not 300 a POUND. is this high quality stuff, or is this mexi-schwag? (what im assuming being in texas?)

if you want to do this right you have to think of it as a business, not just a stoner hooking people up. in business you have to make investments and take risks, but its the kind of risks you take that matters.

what im telling you to do risks MAYBE loosing a couple hundred bucks of bud if one of your guys rips you off, and makes the risk of getting caught much lower.

what your plan does makes the risk of getting caught much higher, and as i said if you cant trust these guys to peddle your shit without screwing you over, DONT DEAL WITH THEM because the definitely cant be trusted when it comes to the law

they arent going to get a warrant to search your house based on what some dealer they busted says about you, worst case scenario they set up a sting. - might happen might not

say it happens, guy comes to your house, gives you the money, you give him the bud, now they have caught you on a charge thats JUST THE SAME as one of your buddies they busted. there is no logical reason for the leos to let one guy off, to catch another guy for the same exact thing. all that police time and effort simply to get a conviction that they could have ALREADY got with the first guy in the chain. seriously doubt it would happen

so as you can see, the risk is VERY VERY low, the ONLY thing you are doing is selling to a few people, every once and awhile, from your house. not a constant back and fourth of drugs and money

with my way, in the laws eyes your a small time dealer, your guy is a small time dealer, who just happens to get supplied from you.

with your way, in the laws eyes, your a dealer, and your guy is just a middle man. it would be more likely, in the rare chance he gets busted and sets you up, for the cops to put the effort in to catch you, because your guy doesn't have any weed/money YOU do. They are catching YOU the bigger fish on the chain. again, with my idea, you and your guy are on the SAME level, make the risk of getting busted from a set up MUCH LESS LIKELY. see what im saying?

bottom line, do what i say and you will have the least risk, and make money very easy. make these people YOUR agents in the field, they make the money, you just collect it. and they are getting something out of the deal too, be it cash or free weed. im sure most smokers, if a trusted friend gave them an ounce at deeply discounted rates, would gladly and easily get rid of it all and make decent money, or just keep some weed and smoke for free.

 

^^lol...a long read, but well worth it. yes, I'm in texas, born and bred, and the schwag we get here is ALWAYS, always always mexican brick. it's either mexican brick or $50/g "dro". your plan DOES sound the safest....and i'm all about safety. getting caught sucks ass. I spent 7 months in Galveston county down in Houston over crack, so I know what it's like. been there, done that, but i've never actually SOLD pot. the only flaw I see, and is one that you addressed, is that there is no one here in Lubbock trustworthy enough to hand out pot to and actually have them sell it. let alone bring back money. they all like to make excuses, "dude, i got mugged, man, seriously!" :toetap05:
There's a guy I might could get to help me, but he lives wayyyyyy out in the country, has a huge ass ranch and shit. only problem with him is he'd want a lot bigger cut since he has to drive like an hour to get to town.....

Use common sense. If you feel bad vibes about a deal then peace. You can always make the money elsewhere but you can't get out of jail if you get caught.

 

how about this:

don't post online that you are planning to sell full time. talk about an easy way for a cop to get a warrant from a judge in order to find a means to get your IP address (not saying it's going to happen, but you're an idiot for even taking the risk in the first place). this falls under the category of "use common sense" i think.

 

I think the first rule of selling is if you have to come to an online forum to get basic advice, then you shouldn't sell.

Selling is a pain in the ass. If it isn't a pain in the ass to get weight reliably then it will be a pain in the ass to get rid of it. Asking your friends to help you out ends up with you smoking them out constantly and they bring you one or two customers that either want to buy a gram or two or were told that you would "hook them up". Dealing with people in an illegal business is also dangerous because anything goes. You'd be surprised how many people will try to rob you for just an ounce.

Once you are caught, which will happen if you do manage to move some weight, you will have to deal with all the legal fees. If you are lucky and smart, you can use the money you've saved up from dealing and end up breaking even after months of dealing with probation. If you're stupid, you've spent your money and won't be able to afford a decent lawyer. If you were smart enough to save money but unlucky enough to have your house raided, the cops will find the money and take it. Putting small amounts of cash in the bank is no big deal but when you get arrested for dealing the cops will want to know why you've been putting a few grand a week into your savings account your grandma set up for you.

It's a great high school job when you want to smoke for free. It's great if you grow and need to get rid of a couple pounds to a distributor. It is not a replacement for a full time job.
