Me and a couple friends are going to try acid for the first time this new years eve, and are really excited, but at the same time a bit anxious. We're going to be doing it together in a comfortable environment, and we're going to set up some like, "activities" to try, like drawing/writing/composing. Anyway, I'm wondering a few things about the overall LSD experience, like:

    - How much control do you have over yourself on a trip? Would I be able to, say, change the track playing on my computer? Or would we be able to actively decide, "Oh, it's getting late, let's draw something now?" Or is it more a kind of go-with-the-flow sort of thing?

    - Do you lose any memory of what happens, a la alcohol??

    - What sorts of things should we stay away from? I've heard mirrors can be unpleasant... is there anything else we should definitely NOT do? (Other than the obvious of like running in front of cars :p)

    - How much is a good amount for a first time? 1 hit? 2? I really want to experience it, but I don't want to be overloaded.

    - Are there any specific things we should have on-hand, like medical supplies, or food/drink?

    - Should I leave the lights on? I tend to get an overactive imagination sometimes as it is... >_>

Uhhh, I think that's it, for now. I really want this to be a safe and amazing experience, so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated! Any other first-timer tips you could offer would also be greatt. :)

A happy new years to everyone as well!

Do 1 or 2 hits. Or 1 and a half hits each if you want.

Give yourself 12 hours with a safe place. You probably dont want your grandparents coming over lol.

You should be able to change songs on your computer, but when I am on acid I hate computers. I find it better to just play a CD... or make playlists ahead of time.

No memory loss like alcohol. Its good to have food and drink. Most people dont like to eat on acid, however I always have and enjoyed it. I always eat something meatless. Normally just a peanut butter sandwich with some bananas on it. Fruits would also be good.

As for lights and stuff... change it up.

take 2 or 3, not 1. From my experience, i've never felt anything but a slight tingle in the back of my brain when i take 1. I don't know if it has to do with weak lsd or a high tolerance for me. So i would say you should do 3. I'd make a legitamate quote but i don't remember which user actually said this.
"You aren't goin to the carnival just to ride the carosel"

As for your trip, set rules, not plans. whenever i make plans, i end up not accomplishing a single one of them. Do want you feel like doing at the moment, just be careful about what you do.
for instance:a jog down the middle of the street at nighttime is not the best idea.

Well there is no such thing as overload. Mirrors are one of my favorite trip toys. As for medical supplies try to have some sedatives or anti psychotics on hand if things get too weird (I dont believe in "cheating" your way out of a trip but it could save a life). I HIGHLY doubt anything bad could happen but its better to be safe than sorry.

Just have it, and forget that you took it, and do what you guys usualy do. Don't plan so much as you will be surprised for sure. Just welcome anything that comes your way.

Make sure you arent around crowds. I mean if you are at a show or festival where every body wants you to have a good trip cool, but just the trippers in a comfortable setting is my advice.
