I'd really like to pick up the guitar. I've got no musical experience and not a lot of money, but I want to do it anyway. I'm too old not to play a single musical instrument, so it's time. So what would the hipforums musicians suggest as a good acoustic guitar for me to start with? I'd like it to be as inexpensive as possible. I'm more than willing to get a used one. If it's even remotely possible, under $100 would be great. Let me know guys. I want to start scanning ebay for deals. Also, are there any tips to speed up the learning process? I really wouldn't even know where to start, except for strumming the bastard until I hear a tune.

I've got a Samick, I prefer playing it over my friend's Martin. It's that good. ...buy one of those. They're cheap and they sound soooo good.
Whatever you buy make sure it's easy to play. The worst mistake alot of people make is they get a guitar that is too hard to finger.. I like my Alvarez that I payed somewhere around $200 for.
It's worth looking around second hand guitat shops. Try to find something with a nice resonant tone. One important feature that I can't stress to highly is to ensure that it has a reasonably low action - that is the gap between the strings and the fretboard. This is greater at the top of the fretboard, and lower near the head. You want something which can be played comfortably right up to about the twelvth fret at least. Many cheap acoustics have an action which is far too high, and can't be adjusted. Go for sound and playability rather than flash looks.
