We've all heard of government mind-control. Whether it be drug-induced, chip induced, or some other piece of miracle technology. Now, I've always shot those theories down because I think they are faaaaar out in left-field and do not have any real world application. However, since I'm blessed with the habit of over-thinking everything, I wanted to post my musings. Now, mind you, I'm not a big conspiracy theorist. I think government mind-control is a combination of three things: Media - News, commercials, and shows Health - Food and exercise Psychology I'll explain how each variable contributes to the process Media In the media we have three things, the news, commercials, and television shows. Commercials and shows This is real simple, we all know that sex and attractiveness sells. I personally believe that it also builds self-doubt it those that constantly watch it. We are bombarded by images of people with perfect bodies, perfect teeth, perfect hair, etc. Some people begin to second guess their own physical attractiveness and I believe this leads to depression. "I'm not good enough for anyone else, I'm ugly" News "Today we had fifteen murders, three rapes, and seven robberies." Translation: "Stay home and watch T.V." Also, bigger news corporations are constantly presenting false information. Whether it be information about a presidential candidate or a policy the current administration wants to pass. Health We love our fast food. Our deep fried, fat clogged food. Eating this food leads to a sedentary lifestyle. You stay at home more, become fat, and watch more T.V. This also contributes to depression. If you're fat you also don't exercise nearly as much. "I'm so fat, nobody wants me, I'm ugly" Psychology Psychology contributes in the sense that it allows people to understand how these things blend together. Result What do we have now? A fat American that thinks "I'm physically unattractive" because of the images they see on T.V, "Nobody wants me/I'm not good enough" because of depression, and "Maybe if I buy the products in commercials I'll have a better life" because of the models using products on T.V. So add all this together: A depressed fat American that: Stays at home, doesn't protest Spends lots of money on healthcare, fast-food, and commercial products Relies on the T.V to get their news. Mainstream news is ripe with inconsistencies and fallacies. It's sad. Now, I don't think the government is actively bank-rolling programs that involve this, but I think that if this theory isn't completely crazy they know about it. What are your thoughts, opinions? Am I a giant crazy douchebag? Blahblahblah TLDR?
also in the water, they put drugs in our water, such as prozac to calm us the fuck down and squelch our creativity.
I'm pretty sure everyone knows this. Intelligent people learn to avoid all of that bullshit. I heard from a conversational hypnosis CD (yeah I'm a nerd) that if you were to take a kid from an uncivilized tribe deep in the jungle of Africa and show him a TV, he wouldn't be able to decipher anything that's going on in front of him. TV is apparently real hypnosis, and it's learned over time. Just thought that was interesting.
The first time I ever thought hypnosis was when I smoked a blunt of haze and then watched HD T.V. I could NOT LOOK AWAY! The kid from Africa though? It's the language barrier. If someone learned english and then started watching T.V I'm pretty sure they'd just be put off from it. I can't stand to watch T.V anymore. Are you joking or being serious?
tv adverts are great arnt they. I just saw a commercial selling athletes foot cream with sex. seriously it was great - I cant wait till they use the same ideas to sell pile cream with. Thats one advert I will record and show my grandkids
Im watching Rambo.. First Blood .. it mildly entertaining with a survival course.. Americans together could of built 20 rockets to the moon for the time they wasted watching micole jaxsum coverage..
There are a lot of gaps in your explanation (understandable, since it's just a short overview), and I think it had even wider implications that what you have mentioned, but overall I agree. I would hasten to add, however, that I don't see the government as being the primary entity utilizing these techniques. The real programming, from what I can see, comes from think-tanks and NGOs -- people who often have an almost all-pervasive influence over government.
See that's where I disagree. I believe that it is NOT the government running T.V because it turns out this route of selling products is the most profitable. Fear/sex based commercials just make the most money.
Everybody knows this .. its a fact; even the stupid fuck sitting at home thinking all the stuff you have said .. they know what is happening to them; the problem is .. they are unable to stop their habit of doing such a thing .. they are unable to break all habits because at the deep core of the individual is a program that doesn't allow itself to be changed. The only way for people to see outside of the box they are stuck within is to take some kind of mind-altering drug like magic mushrooms; mesculine or lsd - even then .. its only for a maximum of 8 hours .. and after the 8 hours .. they are slowly drawn back into their fake sense of reality because anyone who goes off the rails and stops wanting money; sex; tv .. is a threat to the society .. and they will be caught and punished in some shape or form
Your wording is a bit confusing, but I think you're saying that the government is not the primary group using these techniques, which is what I said in the first place. So I'm not sure where the disagreement lies... Seconded.
i third the bullshit of drugs being the answer. people only stay in side the box because that is how they were raised to be. its kinda ignorant to say the non-drug-altered state of mind is the fake sense of reality. all those trips and feelings are chemical imbalances in your brain and body. the only thing you actually learn from the trips is that you are by your self in the world, because only you are experiencing that which you are seeing and [pretty much] only you have to get yourself through it. hence a learning experience, which makes you value life itself alittle bit more.
the "brainwash" that is implemented is actually more like "brain conditioning" which starts in regular school. [quote from some dude on another forum] What is taught is taught for a reason - the knowledge presented in schools today is only to prepare kids for the feast of propoganda and oppresion they will dine on for the rest of their lives... prepare them in such a way that they believe it is the ONLY way... spread not fact but foolishness - so that the mind is forced to believe illogical things... teach memorization of process rather than formation of process... think for yourself? fail, gotta do it my way [end qoute] its actually very true for the most part.
Sorry for the bad wording. Revision: I do not believe that the government is involved. I believe that this method of running T.V (Hot people on T.V, etc, etc) is the most profitable way of running T.V.
I don't agree with this. I've had plenty of times smoking marijuana with friends where we were all getting the same effects. I've also had very metaphysical thoughts and perceptions while on shrooms. Drugs can help you learn about the world by seeing it from a different perspective (much in the same way that good science fiction writers highlight the perils of our world by taking us to a different world). Although, I do agree that drugs certainly cause chemical imbalances and are just another distortion of reality. Actually, as dumb as I found the post of the person talking about Africans and TV, he does raise a somewhat valid point. Brainscans of people watching TV show that when you watch TV, your brain operates at a lower level, closer to REM sleep than to a normal waking brain. TV is therefore, in essence, a drug.
Drugs may not be "the answer" but I believe they can act as de-conditioning agents for the brain. As Terrence McKenna puts it, they clear some space your hard drive. The day after a heavy trip I feel like a new man. But in the end they are only going to help you as much as you want to be helped. Also, I think its a little short sighted to say drugs "distort" reality. If drugs have shown me anything it's that there is no such thing as true reality.
