I am in a sappy mood and want to know and download your opinions on this subject. I am gonna throw the Cure's Love song out as a starter. that is a great love song. Whenever I'm alone with you, you make make me feel like I am whole again....yeah good lyrics. so what are your favorites?

DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. Or maybe it's by Ben Folds Five.

This song is.... unbelievable. I tear up every time I hear it, no matter what I'm doing. Download it. You'll love it. It's adorable.

    :)

    going thru my music....

"Let's Stay Together" ~ Al Green
"And I Love Her" ~ The Beatles
"Good Friday" ~ CocoRosie (great fucking song, I heard it for the first time yesterday, I love it...)
    "Indian Summer" ~ The Doors
"Angel" ~ Jimi Hendrix (the acoustic version)
"Grow Old With Me (God Bless Our Love)" ~ John Lennon (many musicians have done this, but I like John's version the best)
    "Oh Yoko" ~ John Lennon
    "Woman" ~ John Lennon
    "Starting Over" ~ John Lennon
"Stand By Me" ~ John Lennon (also a cover, but his version is my favorite)
"Since I've Been Loving You" ~ Led Zeppelin
    "Waste" ~ Phish
"Beast of Burden" ~ The Rolling Stones
    "Terrapin" ~ Syd Barrett

The bold ones are my favorites out of them all.

can i please add 'black' by pearl jam? dont think she loves him, but he loves her.so it kinda counts. "i hope youll be a star in somebody elses sky, but why cant it be mine".....he must REALLY love her....

well you cant go wrong with "cant get enough" by Barry White. Not sappy but it was my first thought. Then theres "I have to say I love you in a song" and "time in a bottle" by Jim Croce. kinda cheesey but heartfelt stuff usually is.

Several good possibilities such as "Something" by George Harrison. But I would have to go with...[drum roll please]

    As Time Goes By...
    You must remember this,
A kiss is still a kiss,
A sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply as time goes by.
    And when two lovers woo,
they still say "I love you".
    On that you can rely.
No matter what the future brings
    As Time Goes By.
    Moonlight and love songs
    never out of date.
Hearts full of passion jealousy and hate.
Woman needs Man and Man must have his Mate.
On that no one can deny.
Its still the same old story,
a fight for love and glory.
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
    As Time Goes By.
Recorded by many singers such as Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. But the best would have to be Dooley Wilson in the film "Casablanca".

John Lennon's "Woman" stands top for me.
George Harrison's "Something" already been mentioned, but well up there.
There was a Romantic Artist thread recently where I found Cole Porter, I'd say check out "Night and Day" and "Ev'ry Time We Say Good-Bye".

    Air - All I Need
Buddy Holly - Words of Love
The Velvet Underground - I'm Sticking With You :p
    Bent - Cylons In Love
How about "Exit Music" by Radiohead!
Neutral Milk Hotel - King of Carrot Flowers (Part 1)

Getting a bit strange now so I'll call it a day!
