here in California..you can also bring your own bags. I usually end up either buying a bag or carry the items out by hand. It was a measure passed to reduce the amount of bags used. not sure how it is working out.
Im use to taking my own bags, but when I go to stores that dont do your own bag shit.. Ive the lpo following me around the stores.
Watching a doco the other day 20 million extra cars on the road in China every year, is the current rate, and of course that will go up. 20 million freakin more, every freakin year, 20 freakin million! Fark!!!! Yeah, saving your grocery bags will do a shit load of good
Woolworths! Wow, they went years ago.? Just get some thicker bags with your favourite stores logo on,and give them free advertising.. Or eat out!
It’s all about recycling although locally it’s up to each town to decide. Where I live shaws market gives you the thick plastic bags for free, the next town over plastic bags are not allowed to be sold or given out
Not the same thing, your Woolworths was an american franchise Ours: They never registered the name here, someone stole the name, and just ran with it. Supermarket chain here
Whenever anyone here expresses concern for a big problem someone inevitably pops in and says "but what are you doing for your community?!?!?" And whenever someone expresses how their local community is addressing a problem someone inevitably pops in and says "BUT CHINA!!!" just a stray observation Why care about anything at all
yeah, do you have to bring your own bag when you buy a live fish from walmart now? actually, do walmarts even sell pet fish anymore? i never go in the pet section, but i haven't noticed the fish tanks like they used to have there.
Suburbs really kill us. They spread us out, eliminating open space or forests, and they make us dependent on cars, which are poison from an environmental perspective. If more folks lived in cities, we'd be in better shape: but cities kind of suck, too. Plus, strip malls exist. And people who care too much about their lawns.
Nothing wrong in owning a piece of land. I couldn't do city apartments. That's just not me, that isn't free living to me. I love my garage and my pergola and my back yard, my front yard too.
