Okay, so I've done a little bit of light reading on the subject, and I was thinking; there's no real guide on what a beginner needs to do for growing. Stickies include a very nicely detailed guide on some growing techniques and things like differentiating between male and female.

Say I found a few bag seeds and don't really just wanna toss em. The only thing I can think to do is grow em. Now, I'm not looking to do a SOG grow, I just wanna toy with these seeds to get them to possibly grow. If they grow, that's cool. If not, oh well. It's more of a science experiment than anything else. I guess my question is this -- what is the best way to go about doing this?

I have my own place with my own room and roommates who wouldn't mind me trying this. The growing would be done in my room, probably either on the desk when no guests are over and in a closet with company over.

Where should I start? Soil, pottery, lighting? Any nudges in the right direction would be helpful. Bear in mind I am a little tight for cash.

Any dirt will do? Potting soil? Anything I should know about pH?

Heat lamp? Any lamp? I'm talking like, zero cost here as I'm a college kid and I don't have any cash really.

    heres the deal:
    1. you need HID to flower preferably HPS (high pressure sodium). one plant, 150 watts. 2-4, at least 400. upwards of that.
    2. Do not use bag seed. chances are its hermie, from a self pollinated plant. Waste of time imo unlessits purely for learning and not potent weed
    3. preemtive neem oil and if seeds are feminized then dutchmaster reverse pre-emptive.

you will find all you need here
