I'm hoping they record new material like Alice in Chains did. What new grungy bands are you talking about? Just curious.

I liked grunge at the time, but in retrospect. Mudhoney was the only real grunge band. Alice in Chains was the closest one to come to their sound and they're more numetal. And it seems to me like 'grunge' was more of a fashion than a sound.

Even back in the day, I wasn't sure how people thought Pearl Jam and Nirvana (puke) were enough alike to be in the same subgenre.

Grunge never was born as a proper genre so I don't expect any kind of rebirth.

You're going to put alice in chains in the same subgenre of music as Korn and Limp Bizkit followed by the last sentence? Eat a dick prick

Are you saying System of a Down and the Deftones are as bad as Limp Bizkit?

Your argument is "your not old enough for grunge" and "Alice In Chains is better than some nu-metal, so they can't possibly be nu-metal"
Do you realize how childish you sound?

Yeah grunge doesn't have age anyone who likes it can listen to it.... and Alice in Chains was metal, Nirvana was punk but the media put it all together into one genre known as grunge... Really grunge doesn't exist..

Sound closer to them than to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Mudhoney.

But I would equate Alice In Chains more to the Godsmack/Disturbed spectrum of nu-metal (just a thousand times better)
Although both of those bands have a cleaner sound, other bands within the genre, such as Flyleaf use heavy distortion like you would hear in Alice in Chains.

    Godsmack as nu metal?

Not listed as such on their wiki page you got quite a broad spectrum range there. But anyways, I don't really care if you like or dislike grunge or nu metal, you just sound ridiculous at saying 'back in the day' and 'i liked grunge at the time' as if you were like really knowledgeable about it when alot of that music came out before you knew how to wipe your own ass.
