I know almost nobody still listens to it, but is there anybody on here that still happens to listen to the Bleach, In Utero, etc albums?
i still listen to nirvana, but not much else "grungy" i have to say, i went to a mudhoney gig last year, but thats about it i do love it, but most of the time im in too much of a happy mood for it
ah man, no me gusta STP... i dig on some nirvana, mudhoney, pixies, soundgarden, mother love bone, green river, the dwarves... yeah, too many to name. and some of em arent really grunge
yea i listen to alot of grunge music... especially nirvana and alice in chains, pearl jam, mother love bone, all that stuff. the music is so kickass but it just gets me down listening to the lyrics and stuff
i was really into it about 10 years ago... yes, i was 8 or so. i cant stand most of it anymore, but lately, nirvana's been one of the few bands that sound good to my ears. well, there's about 3 bands i've been listening to lately, that is all. :H
I was involuntarily listening to Pearl Jam in a car today, and it actually put me into a soothing sleep.
For some reason I've always hated the term "grunge". I always say early 90's alternative but yeah.....nirvana, mudhoney, the pixies, the melvins, *smashing pumpkings*, *pearl jam*, MLB, *AIC*, soundgarden, NIN,* janes addiction*, *primus*, the breeders, L7, early STP.....i love early 90's alt.
i cant stand the production on those grunge albums and the sound of those singing voices. when i was in high school all the guitar guys used to sing in that eddie vedder voice and all the songs had that quiet beggining with the distortion peddle middle bit and then quiet again... i hated those grunge days. just depressing dirty rubbish.
I'm a hugh grunger, I love the music & the lifestyle. In fact I'm playing Soundgarden right this second.
When I want to hear depressing music I'll put on some doom metal or Tori amos. I've only heard Smells like team spirit, and most grunge puritans will probably argue that was grunge for the common man, watered-down and livened-up, the kind of things I accuse Cradle and Dimmu of when talking from a black metal fanatic's PoV.
If you've only heard Smells Like Teen Spirit, then you haven't heard good grunge. Try listening to Nirvana's Bleach, or In Utero...or some Mudhoney.
