ok, these DO NOT reflect the music i like in general, just a few songs (or artists) here and there that i dig for some odd reason... christina aguilera... she IS pop, but you have to admit, the girl has a voice. she can sing so much better than her counterpart, and i've always thought she looked much better. spice girls... posh is hot, and since i was a kid i had a weird infatuation with them... i even owned their movie! justin timberlake's "cry me a river"... the song has a good beat and, another truth (IMO), he has an OK voice. definitely nowhere near any of my favorite singers, but i have to give him credit...
I did a thread like this a while ago, and I'll put here what I did there...Hanson. I 've liked them since I was 15 & a half yrs old lol. *blushes*
Destiny's Child, especially Beyonce Knowles ::hubba hubba:: :X but then again I don't feel that guilty about it hehe
now that's one group i don't feel guilty about. but i only really like them for their sex appeal (what they're going for nowadays)... whatever happened to the days of "independent women"? now it's like, "we're independent, but we're still gonna sell ourselves so we can make even more money!"
I've always been a fan of Elton John's earlier stuff. Not the crap he makes now. there's something about a dumpy little balding englishman in feathers and glitter that makes me want to listen to his music.
Elton is a funny old chap. A friend of mine got into his music after he heard John had told a reporter, "I hope you die with cancer of the clit"! Bizarre. My own guilty pleasure, but I wouldn't go so far as pleasure...I like 'Central Reservation' by Beth Orton a lot - But found myself switching it off when friends arrived and it was playing. Erm, other than that I don't know, not much else I own embarasses me really. There's the stuff like Puff Daddy from a younger year but it's never played. I suppose just random songs, cheesy 80's electro or the very odd bit of pop.
I love Billy Joel....he's just a funny old geezer & his songs are so nostalgic. A lot of people I know think his songs are corny, but I happen to like how he looks at things & manages to work it into a creative song. He's certainly won his place in my book, considering that he writes his own songs & he's very articulate at the piano.
I must say, I do find Justin Timberlake good. "Cry Me A River", and uh... those other two singles he had.... same with Usher and R. Kelly.
billy joel shouldn't be a guilty pleasure; he's fantastic! my guilty pleasure, however, is britney spears. i would rape her in a minute
lol, yeah, I kinda need more Billy Joel pride At the risk of getting beaten up, I'm also going to say I like some '80s stuff, like Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, & U2. (k, I'm gonna go hide in a corner now)
ice, ice baby is a damn addictive song. it makes me move my ass around in circles and drop it like it's hot.
hey, theres nothing wrong with liking U2 or Blondie!! Debbie Harrie rocks! she still rocks, even today! I think my guilty pleasure is allsaints - this british girlband from years ago for those who dont know or remember. They were around about the same time as the spice girls but i think they had slightly more of an edge to them. Its actually only one song by them that i actually like - ie, ' pure shores'. They did the song for 'the beach', that flic with leonardo dicaprio and ive loved the song ever since. very good film too! lol peace and love xxxxx
beatlerific, will you marry me????? umm, sorry about that..... my guilty pleasure has always been inxs. and more recently it has been abba.
I have REAL guilty pleasures, not something like U2 or Blondie that are actually really good. Anyhoo, mine would be Ricky Martin (his Spanish stuff... reminds me of the times spent in Barcelona) and Eros Ramazzotti (pretty much the same reason).
