Hey, i dont know if somebody posted this somwhere else..but did anyone hear about that? I guess the guy's dad came home and he found his 23-24 year old son dead with a whole bunch of glass everywhere and glass stuck in his son. And, its from his lava lamp! The news guy said that the son put the lava lamp(not the metal holder part, but the part with the water and the lava stuff in it) on the stove for 'some reason' and then it exploded. And first I thought "Why did he do it?" But then i remebered, that he was probably trying to heat the lava lamp up, since lava lamps take a while to heat up and start flowing. Sorry, im a realy bad newsreporter..but yes, don't EVER put ur lava lamp on the stove!
haha, omg, what an IDIOT! haha, that's kinda funny, in a sick/sad way... be warned, hippies! hahaha.... hmm... reminds me of the time when i was like fourteen, and i went to make some ramen noodles and i turned on the wrong burner without knowing it, and my ma had left all these dirty dishes (a glass casserole dish on the bottom) right on top of it..anyway, i walked away to get something, and like three seconds after i walked away the dish exploded into like millions of peices all over the kitchen...it made a really loud scarey sound
my lava lamp fell out of my window. i left it on the window sill and i had the window open, but it was a really windy night and my curtains billow about when it's windy.... you can probably figure out the rest. although i dont open my curtains for hours after i get up so it was about 2pm before i even realised
I read about this article yesterday.... It was the top story on Netscape.net news... lol I thought it was just funny he shouldn't of put the lamp on his stove what a dumbass...
When I heard about this, it sounded like maybe he didn't HAVE the base for it, and was trying to use the stove top to make it work. This CAN work, but you MUST remove the lid to the jar! The liquid heated up as it should, but with the lid on, it expaned and shattered the jar. They found a chunk of the glass embedded in his heart. Sad Story, but it COULD have been avoided.
I agree - sad story - the guy was from up here, too. I love lava lamps, we have 4 in the house. You wouldn't think you would have to tell your kid not to do that, but I will now.
