Guys, I wanna try skydiving!

Has anyone here done it before?

 

I did it earlier this year, it was incredible. In fact, up there on the list of 'best things i've done in my life'.

It is faster than you anticipate, but not as scary. The worst bit is before you jump, they have to dangle you out whilst the guy in tandem sits on the plane floor.

I've tried muff diving, it's really a lot of fun.

Sky diving though, no would like to. I'd like to try muff diving and sky diving at the same time, I wonder if anyone has ever tried that.

 

Pack your own chute though....;-)

My Dad got landed in a tree once, but I've never tried it.

I'd be to scared to. Going up in an air balloon might be cool though.

 

For the life of me I never could understand why someone would want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. But that muff diving thing, that's something I could do everyday. lol

You might as well just post about nude skydivers. Some unusual things happen for that. Veins in the legs are easily seen. Also, the breasts turn into an inverted cup shape that looks quite strange, like mini-parachutes.

I'd be much more eager to go do it if you didn't have to go tandem the first few times. Too bad those lingerie ladies aren't instructors around here.

 

One of the oddest news stories I ever saw in the CNN archive about a guy who strapped a bunch of video equipment to him to film a group skydive. He forgot to put on his parachute.

The authorities found the video tape amongst the remains of him. The video tape was still in a good enough condition to be played. You could see the point in the video where he realized he didn't have a parachute and panicked.

Things go wrong occasionally with tandems. I've heard of a few cases where the student fell out of the harness. It is sometimes due to a number of factors, such as the physical build of the person and the way the straps are placed on the person.

They have parachutes that automaticly open at a certain elevation. Seems like there's more that could go wrong with tandem than that. I really don't want to do it tandem, but I don't think there's anyway around it, atleast around here
