Yikes...i wanna say its on my lady crooked but i dunno...it looks pretty bad from here...there was bleach spilled on the straps in the back and all...its all wrinkled and messy lol...such pride in the early work!

How long ago did you sew this? And how long have you been sewing?

 

I made it about 6 or 7 years ago Its funny that I have held on to it for so long..It got thrown in a heap of fabric..
I remember sewing with my mom when i was a kid...I also remember when I was 19 I wanted to make my boy a patchy backpack for his birthday. So I cut out all the patches and started hand sewing it...then I realized it was gonna take ages so i busted my ma's machine out... I started making all kinds of lil crystal bags n lil purses n more patchy backpacks.....lol...i was a maniac from the start...all my friends had em...then i just got bored and stopped...
then a couple years later....and a few thousand miles...I met Cre n we got all crafty and had a ghetto lil business of hemp jewelry and crocheted tams...oh and hairwrapping when we could be bothered to get our asses out...I remember a lil sewing then but not so much good stuff....loads of hair scrunchies tho...haha...
then a couple more years later..lol..cre discovers mama selling their wares on ebay...n thats when i became the crackhead i am today...
I took a few years off to move back to Cali and be a corporate slave, bringing home some bacon...
so that, in a very large and rambling nutshell...is how long ive been sewing...
sheesh im a windbag when stoned...

The first 'dress' I made, I came across a few months ago. I cut it to pieces because it had some rockin corduroy panels. Can't even remember the first top..

I remember when My things look like that... But you only learn how to master something with practice.. You have come a long way... But It was very good for a first!!!!
