Picked up a harmonica the other day and damn it I hate the beginning of trying to learn an instrument until you can play just one song! One song damn it then I will feel success...... anybody else here play or tried?
lol my mom bought me one of those first act harmonica learning kits (they come with a crappy harmonica but my mom bought me a real one as well) when i was like 11 or 12 and i've just been playing ever since haha edit: well i've known how to play ever since.. i lost my harmonica moving but if someone else has a harmonica i'll play it
oh when the saints go marching in i can play that song on almost any instrument you put in front of me. its a really easy song.. down there with mary had a little lamb, camp down races and that are you sleeping brother john song hah
my old na sponsor could fuckin wail on a harmonica. it was pretty kick ass. i just imagine it takes some getting used to like any other instrument
my dad would always play the harmonica for me when i was little, and i've always loved it. last summer i decided i should try to learn how to play, so i bought one and practiced and played for a little while. i still have the harmonica, but i really don't play it as much as i should anymore. its not really all that hard to play, just a little tricky. good luck with it!
I got one earlier this year and I just can't get the hang of it.. really can't. For some reason the sound of a harmonica attracts my ferret like crazy so I use it as a ferret caller when I lose her. Hasn't failed me yet.
I can play the harmonica. Its not hard. I cant play songs, dont really want to. I just jam out with my friends when they are rocking the guitars. Just make sure you don't look like a retard when you're jamming and play a harmonica thats in the right key.
i wish i could just jam out on a harmonica.. thats too hard for me i gotta learn songs or something or else i have no clue what to do.
Just find a rhythm or beat that sounds cool and goes with what the other people are playing and work it from there. Eventually you'll feel comfortable enough to solo and all will be well.
