no, never heard of. what kind of music is it? i have very ecclectic tastes, yet still few people really like my favorite bands (or if they do, they dislike the rest of what i like!) i got a few cds for christmas, most of them made up of music i've either never heard before, or only heard once or twice and can't remember. there are a few songs on some of the cds that i already KNOW....but not many. one of these cds is Oh Perilous World! by one of my all-time favorite bands, Rasputina (featured in the image in my sig) DEFINITELY not something most of my friends (or anyone else i know) like i've only known a very small handful of others who like them....anyway, i think this new album of theres is great. their music is....different....centered around the cello, and very much a "girl" band (though they often have male drummers, and this stands for the past couple albums with Jonathon TeBeest) they call themselve "chamber rock" which i think is one of the only suitable terms to describe their sound, though i think this last album is quite different from anything they've released in the past, and has a much lighter sound.... here's a link to an MP3 of one of the songs on the new album, courtesy of rasputina.com: http://www.toolshed-media.com/ts/rasputina-cage-in-a-cave.mp3 its called Cage in a Cave.... their stuff ranges from sounding like its primarily influenced from traditional types of music for the cello to sounding like real hard rock, with sounds you'd never guess came from a few cellos....to....this kind of stuff. i highly recommend everyone check them out. now tell me about these bands you're talking about....what are they like? what do you like about them (if you can put your finger on it)?
