Man, I hear ya. There's a lot of problems with Christianity like that. I figure, God wouldn't make us imperfect then punish use for our imperfection. But my view of God is non-christian (I don't see god as being personified, God isn't a big ego in the sky, ya know). Whether you lose your faith or not, I say don't worry about it. God is God, regardless of religion (I doubt your choice in religion would matter, as long as you get the meaning...and live it).

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

    Romans 1:20

Look all around you, the earth is proof enough that their is a God. God could have made earth without color, without shape, and without elements but because He is a loving God he made it So beautiful for us to live. For those who truly seek Him, God will find a way enter the life of that person.

Check out this post written by Campbell34 in response to the question "How do people on deserted Islands who never here about God get saved?" :

God knows about the remote islands. Jesus said that if a man seeks me with all his heart, with all his mind, and with all of his soul he will surely find me. God will always find a way to make Himself known to those who truly seek Him. I have seen Jesus work this way. I remember a long time ago I was in a place where there was a lot of kids drunk and high and I was sitting on a bench at a beach. I told God I must be the only Christian around here. I told Him I just wish I could speak with another Christian. When I opened my eyes there in front of me was a Christian track just sticking out of the sand. I never got up from where I was sitting. The track told me how one could Give their life to Christ. After reading it, I had two guys walk up to me and ask me if I was a Christian, and they shared with me their love for Christ. They moved on and another guy walked up to me, and he told me he was a Christian and wanted to know if I knew Christ. I told him I did. A simple prayer is all it took, and God gave me a track about Himself, and provided three people to talk to me about Christ. And I never even had to get up from where I was sitting. Nothing is impossible for God. If a person on a remote island really wanted to know who God was, God would find a way.

Jesusdiedforu, to me its as silly as having an imaginary friend.... Im sure someone who has prayed to a Crack god, for more crack... then having someone the next morning offer himself a blowjob, in trade for a few bucks, would be an answer from his crack god right?

To me, that last story you shared could have just as well been coincidence (sp?), as it could an answer from god... there is no proof! How am I supposed to believe just someones word? No more than I can believe someone coming up to me saying "I am god".. hmmmmmm well what can I say? "no your not"? How the fuck do we have any proof as to who is right, and who is wrong? Maybe he could be god! But you christians like to say "false prophet" bullshit... how do you know? what if he really was god? you have just as good as chance of that guy really being god, then there even being a god at all... dig?

thanks for the replys by the way =)

Well, I once prayed for a blow job....
Do you believe what you say to people?
God has always been right in your face (literally and metaphorically). God just 'pretends' not to be God until you understand the things you need to understand about God. Once you get to know God, you will recognize God's hand in all events.

Well you can ask campbell34 yourself if the story is true or not. As for how do we determine who is the true God. Go with the religion that has the text without error. A flawless text will give the answer to the true God because men cannot write a flawless book especially when i predicts the future in deatil.

I tell you what if you trully did the research first hand you would discover that the Bible is the true word of God but then again most people do not do the research. And keep in mind God will always reveal himself to those who are trully seeking him...

Here check this out... this guy was a skeptic just like you... but he did the research and discovered the truth.

THE BIGGEST SKEPTIC IN THE WORLD:
    IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME

    (courtesy of http://bibledesk.com/)

To the best of my memory, before I came to the saving grace of Jesus Christ, I did not believe the Bible was true. I doubted whether there was a God and believed that we were born, lived so many years, and then died. I owned a successful business and thought that I had succeeded by my own wits.
One evening, my wife and I heard some documentation that these were the last days before Jesus Christ would actually return. Not really wanting to hear it, I almost walked out. Something kept me there, and I listened. I was not convinced. I still had doubts whether or not there was a God. I doubted whether there really was a Satan, heaven, hell, or a judgment. Just to be sure, however, I decided to do a little research. My idea was to find out if the Bible was really true. Indeed, if I could find one contradiction, one error, or anything in the Bible that was not true, then that would be all that was needed to disregard it. (I wasn't necessarily interested in whether we were in the latter days or not, but just trying to find out if the Bible was really true.) I believed this would take a very short time.
As I have learned, the Bible has about 10,000 prophecies (verses). Nearly one-third of the Bible is directly or indirectly related to prophecy. This endeavour led me into far more research than I could have suspected. One thing needed, was to determine when the Bible was actually written. Because of this, a study of biblical history and archaeology was necessary. I found the Old Testament was indeed written before the coming of Jesus, as the Dead Sea Scrolls (containing parts of the book of Isaiah) were proven to have been written before Jesus came. The book of Isaiah includes forecasts of Jesus. Thousands of clay tablets have also been found, which confirm many accounts in the Bible.
I began studying the prophecies in the Bible. My wife would go to the library for me to obtain documentation from reference books to see if the prophecies really did take place. One day went by, then two days, and then a week. Every prophecy that we were able to get information on proved to be accurate. Two weeks went by. Then four weeks passed. My job became of secondary importance. Every prophecy that we were able to verify checked as being true. I was astonished, but far from convinced. I still had doubts as to whether there was a God, a heaven, or a hell yet I had to be sure. Later, there were people who would show me what appeared to be contradictions in the Bible, yet these were not contradictions at all, but only a lack of research on the part of those that said these things. I was searching to find if the Bible was true. My wife spent a lot of time at the library making copies of various reference materials, which I would check out against the Scriptures. Stubborn, that's me. Even after four weeks of intensive study, proving prophecy after prophecy was true, I was still skeptical and refused to believe. I began taking more time off from my business and investing it in study. One month turned into two, and two months turned into four. The more I researched, the more determined I became. It wasn't possible. The Bible could not be perfect. Thousands of prophecies, and every one perfect? No, impossible! Sixty-six books written by many people over hundreds of years and not one error? If I would admit that, I would have to admit there was a God, and I was not prepared to do it, even after months of research.
My studies also included various translations of the Bible, checking prophecies against reference books, archaeological discoveries, just to mention some. It became an obsession with me. My foremost desire was to know the truth. Four months turned into many months. I've never known anyone, before or since, that was willing to take this amount of time just to find out if the Bible was true. Finally, I had to admit I was wrong.
If you would walk across the street 10,000 times and never get hit, then you would walk across the street the next time by faith. So it was with me. Finally, after spending almost countless hours of research, I had to admit the Bible is true and is indeed the perfect Word of God. Anyone willing to take the time I did and do the same research, could only come to the same conclusion, if they are honest with themselves. I may have been the biggest skeptic in the world, but now I know. It did not come easy, but by God's mercy and grace, it did come.

I think you need to figure out what your definition of God is, if you ever really had faith in said God, and if you do believe in God and just dont agree with those words INSPIRED by God WRITTEN by (imperfect opinionated) man

Or maybe God should just jump out and hit you in the head, then you would know God was real

You want proof? Go read the Book of Revelation and Isaiah.
How can there have been so many fulfilled prophecies if it wasn't a truely Divine Book?

Jesus fulfilled 300 prophecies of the Tanakh, which was sealed 200 years before his birth.

You want proof that the Bible's historicly accurate?
Check out different cultures, and you'll notice that in almost all other ancient cultures there's a story of a flood.
You'll notice that many have the tower of Babylon, and some other ancient cultures the story of the Garden of Eden.

Ramses existed, King David existed, and they're all in the Bible.

And yes, You did lose faith...and I'll be praying for you...:)
