When I was 15 I was jumping from cargo crates by the railroad track, at night. I jumped off of two stacked on each other not knowing I was like two stories high, and I broke the Tibia and fibia bones in my left leg. I had a plaster hip cast on for six months, and then a below the knee fiberglass cast for three months. Doctor said I had crushed the bone, and that he had never seen such an injury before. Good doctor though. He kept me out of surgery and from getting a pin inserted. We were playing tag that night. Man the pain was horrendous. I think I was praying for it to end and crying for the first few nights. My friends came to visit while I was laid up though, which was nice. Never broke anything else, and I am now 33. Knock on wood.

I fractured my skull, damaged my spine and broke my jaw in a car accident. I fractured my skull again in another car accident. Then I broke both my ankles, several ribs, fractured my pelvis in several places and had my hips crushed by 3 inches in another car accident. I think that's it as far as bones go. (other areas were damaged too in all 3 accidents).
Kung-fu competition - guy tried a side kick and I dropped my elbow onto his shin, shattering it. Reflex and unintentional.
I was attacted in 4th grade by a kid with a whiffle bat and i tried to backflip to get away and smashed my collar bone
I just broke one for the first time in my entire life 3 weeks ago. The fifth metatarsal bone on my right foot. I went to a podiatrist who told me that I needed surgery to correct it. Well, I was none too happy about that, so I went for a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon, who informed that surgery would not be necessary. Thank goodness! Right now I have an orthopedic shoe on and and my foot is all wrapped up. He said that by the end of the summer that I should be healed. How did I break it? Well, my husband and I were helping my little sister and my mother move into their new home. My husband was harping on me because I was barefoot as usual, not wanting to wear shoes. I waved his warnings aside because I have always been a barefooting kind of girl and have never had a problem besides some bee stings and splinters of wood or glass. I was trailing after my husband and my little sister outside, and as I hopped down onto what I had been expecting to be flat concrete floor, being in an unfamiliar environment, I hadn't realized that there was a step leading onto the patio. I had thought it was a straight drop down. So, I go to jump down, and I fell down the step, scraping myself up majorly and landing with a sickening thud. My husband and my sister freaked out. They just stood there not knowing what to do. I started laughing, but I was also crying at the same time because it hurt something awful, and I am no baby when it comes to pain, believe me. When I looked down at my foot it was bloody and my little toe was crossed up over my fourth toe, and I had so many scrapes all over both feet and ankles that I looked like a horrible bloody mess. I moved it back into place, and my husband and sister helped me hobble back into the house, my husband stripping his shirt off and wrapping it around my foot as my sister got some ice. I could see blood seeping through his shirt and my foot began to throb. My mother had been down in the basement and ran upstairs when she heard me crying. Well she flipped out. She quickly examined my foot (she's a nurse) and expressed concern that I had fractured my metatarsal bone. I was stubborn, saying that I was going to be just fine, and refused to go get an x-ray. Well, that is, until the next day when I could not walk at ALL. But it was the weekend, and I didn't want to head to the emergecny room as I knew all they would do is wrap it for me until I could make an appointment with a doctor who would determine what to do with it from there. So I didn't want to waste my time. Let me tell you, the bottom of my foot turned this sickly yellow and purple color and was so swollen up that I was afraid to even touch or look at it. When I was finally able to see a doctor 4 days later, she took one glance at it, and predicted I had a fracture. She did an x-ray, and yes, she was right on. But she informed me that I needed surgery, pins inserted. No way. That's when I went for a second opinion.
Despite what happened, it hasn't changed my mind one bit about not wearing shoes when I can avoid them. Almost 27 years of my life have been spent barefoot in the warm months.
