Have you ever had an STD/STI? It’s a simple yes or no question. You can stay completely anonymous by voting. The only thing I ask is that you PLEASE BE HONEST.

I realize the data collected here can't really prove much. But the goal is to hopefully shed some light on the reality of STD contraction.

Since I asked the question, it's only right that I not be afraid to answer. So I'll get things started.

I've never contracted an STD (thus far) :smash:.
Do you ever engage in unprotected sex? Yes, all the time. I hate condoms and rarely ever use them. But I'm not reckless
How old are you? Late 20's
How many sexual partners have you had? A LOT
Are you a sexually promiscuous person, or are you more sexually monogamous? I'm definitely promiscuous. Even when I'm in a relationship it's never sexually monogamous. Part of me is surprised that I've never caught anything, but at the same time part of me isn't.

 

I have engaged in unprotected sex, yes, especially with women.

I stopped counting a while back, but it's well over a 100 I'd think.

I think my answer to the last question answers this one.

I am very safe about the way I play, have myself tested frequently, and don't play unprotected with men at the outset. So far, knock on wood, I've been lucky.

 

You and I both . But are people like us really that "lucky", or is it that perhaps the risks aren't always as inflated as certain people make them out to be?

 

I should clarify that I have not had an STD/STI.

But I did contract an infection of some sort, but it couldn't have been sexually transmitted as I was a virgin at the time (virgin, meaning not engaged in any sex act of any kind).

I got it tested just in case, and it was not coming up as an STD/STI, but I did need antibiotics for it. No clue as to how I contracted the infection.

Other than that, no I've never had an STD/STI. I should say that I use condoms when I'm with a girl though.

 

Sometimes it's good to be picky.

In the army I had all the peoples medical records at the touch of my fingers, and I knew who was dirty and who was clean. Sure it was against the rules, but I saved many a friend from getting a Q-tip shoved down the ol penis.

Agreed, just don't abuse that knowledge. Just use it to protect yourself and live a humble quiet life.

Have you contracted an STD more than once? Chlamidiya 2-3 times. Diagnosed twice, the last time had similar symptoms to the second time (first time had no symptoms, but showed up in an STD panel test), so took zithromax that I had, symptoms went away and subsequently tested STD free.

 

One time, I contracted a disease called LIFE from my parents.

It's terminal though.

 

I have twice back in my teen years! Both from the same girl that I was dating at two different times. Yes I was a slow learner back then. Might also be why I look at people that cheat in such a negative way. Both times she had cheated and the only reason I found out was the little surprise she gave me. Needless to say I would never put up with that kind of shit again in my life.

 

I've heard that 1 out of 4 people have had an std, and the poll is at 5 out of 19 which is almost 1 out of 4.

I've never had an std. I'm mainly been in monogamous relationships but I've had moments of promiscuity in between relationships. I've never worn condoms in a relationship but always when I'm not in a relationship or early on when I don't know someone well.

 

Yeah, that's probably the worst way to learn that your partner is cheating on you :bomb:

For those who arent in a monogamous relationship, how often do you get tested? Is it only when you're worried, or feel something not right? or do you make yourself go every x months...?
