Have you ever noticed

That your a cliche stoner?

A couple minutes ago I was in my room (smoking weed) and I thought about it. And I'm like the classic example of a stoner. It made me laugh and I realized "hey this is fuckin cool" so I kept laughing about it.

I looked around my room and theres band posters covering the walls, lava lamps on almost every surface in my room, My trailer park boys flag on my door, bong in my hand, dead lighter collection. I even have a potleaf ashtray that I use all the time even though I'm not supposed to smoke inside but I don't get caught. I even have one of those incense things but I never use it anymore. I just bought it because it looked cool.

Then theres my toke towel thats all covered in lip rings of smoke, it's been through a lot of sesh's.

The music that was playing was of course just adding to the list of classic stonerdom.

Maybe it's a bad thing that I'm everything teachers tell you not to be, but I'm happy with it. So it's fine by me.

The weird thing is I didn't even try to be a stoner. These things just accumilated (thats spelled wrong probably) in my room and just now I realized it.

when I go to concerts and whatnot, people always seem to walk up to me and ask me where the green is.

it's probably the hair and all the tie-dye shirts.

 

Hmm.. I guess I don't look like a typical stoner to other stoners.

But to everyone else who doesn't smoke see's me they probably think I'm a stoner just because of my long hair and the fact that I always wear band t shirts.

So maybe I do look like a stoner........

The funny thing about me is that I am one of the most non typical stoner types. I am almost 40, I work mad hours at work make almost 100k a year and I wear a suit or prep type cloths. My taste in music is more along the lines of rock and alternative. My hair is short and I own my own house. The most non pot smoking looking guy.

Then again I did not smoke for the first time until my late 20's and I did not start smoking full time until about four years ago.

 

I think being an older pot smoker just makes you even more awsome.

My dad's 47 and he's the man.

If i told you i did drugs, youd probably lol and say yeah right.

If you got to know me, youd think im a mad good friend xD

Otherwise i cant really find a label for myself. Only thing i have incommon with stoners, is i get stoned.

 

But I guess he looks like a stoner. His hair is longer than mine lol.

Thanks! I want to be that guy when he is 70 and just smoking a J. Hell, I often think of Michel Caine in Children of Men talking about smoking Strawberry Cough and I want to be that guy. Just hanging out in his own house out in the country growing my own.....all without the world going to hell in a handbasket thing.

 

Besides, it's the older guys who started everything.

Without my dad I wouldn't know half of what I know about pot, and he has so many cool stories.

 

I am looking forward to smoking with my sister's kids this summer. One is 18 and the other is 17. I don't think I would smoke them up any younger. I just found out they smoke just last Christmas.

 

I do everything I can to not fit the stereotypical image. A lot of kids my age fail to realize how important it is to look normal in regards to society. When I worked around an upper class area of Raleigh my boss would bluntly tell me and the other employees that he was looking for clean cut white kids with manners. Job applications from kids with really long hair, offensive clothing, or poor communication skills were to be thrown in the garbage the second the applicant turned their back to leave.

I stay away from t-shirts that promote bands, companies, or products that are clearly in the "hippy" category not only because I think stoner rock and jam music is boring but because people immediately treat you differently if they see you wearing a Dead t-shirt, Jesus sandals and a bandanna around your forehead. I'll generally wear things that are more conservative, especially in a work situation because khaki shorts and a polo are something you would expect from your average college student.

I see some of my friends spend half their paychecks on posters and tapestries from the local headshops because they want their house to be trippy. I'll spend my money on weed and make my house liveable. A lot of what you see involving the "stoner culture" is just another market of crap that companies exploit.

 

So your trying to be an average college student? Whats the difference between trying to look like some college dude or trying to look like a hippie?

Nothing, except what the clothes look like.

And who cares what other people think if they see you wearing a shirt of a band you like, if your going to care what other people think so much you might as well let them dress you.

But anyway, I forgot to mention that my precious guitars and amps and other accessories are also in my room. Not that it makes my room more stonery, they just look cool lol.

I usually wear jeans, long-sleeved collar shirts, and modern leather shores, dress-casual, mostly because I'm a visual merchandiser in the fashion industry and I know that image means a lot, even if I couldn't care less what people think of me. Image and your self confidence lead to assertiveness and authority, required skills in supervising store managers.

I don't look like the weedhead that I am, at all. Music may give it away though

how i dress? maybe. everything i wear is plain but i'm never caught without my black zip up.

music? probably not.

activities? definitely not. i'm da motha fuckin captain of the volleyball team AND i have a 4.9 average

 

a lot of my friends who smoke don't look like potheads at all.
