ok today i bought a couple of razor strops, and some razor strop cream, and Im going to find my old cut throat razor and start shaving with it again, Ive used one before years ago . They save on razor blades, so may be greener than disposeable razors or razor blades, and if used correctly give a mighty fine shave my grandfather used a cut throat razor and he was blind ....anyway have you ever used one ....would you shave with one do you have a steady hand Ive never liked electric shavers do you shave, what do you use, any tips
well he could have electrocuted them and it would be interesting to know how many people do electrocute themselves with razors as opposed to accidently cut their throats with a cut throat (although you would have to factor in that more people use electric razors i suppose)
Cut throat razors are a little terrifying. I doubt I'll ever be brave/daft enough to use one! I use cheap ass disposable razors. Don't go in for all this triple-bladed-vibrating-protector crap. Hadn't actually thought about the environmental effects disposable razors have, but I shave maybe twice a week so mine last ages.
they certainly aint made for woman shaving needs, i mean you could end up cutting little bits off of yourself and ending up looking like barbie or ken after theyve sat on a ketchup sammich
now that's an image that is gonna stick...... never used one, too lazy really ....... a straight razor does seem a funky idea tho'... i'm just a lotta faff
cut throats are not that scary the main thing is to have them really sharp when i used to use them I dont remember cutting myself much or at all . the thing that annoys me about double bladed or triple bladed razors is the clog up with hair this doesnt happen with a straight razor and one razor could last you a lifetime . you need to prepare the face well with hot water and have a steady hand, if you remember the old barbers they would use a straight razor and if done well its quite a skill to see and gives a great shave
Oh it certainly gives a good shave, no doubt about that. I just don't think my hand could ever be steady enough to attempt to use one. You're right about the triple blades getting clogged. The first razor I had was a Wilkinson Sword Protector 3-D, bought because apparently it was impossible to cut yourself. But after a month it was totally useless. Maybe one day, years from now
