My mum is flat broke and now that i am of age i have to get a job to help contribute to the family.

The only place that is hiring or i am able to work at is the dreaded mcdonalds..
i hate the smell, their food, the company and they will force me to get rid of my natural dreads so i look like another smiley girl clone. All the small stores that attract my attention and wouldnt mind working at are all too poor to get more workers because they are being out done by the bigger american franchises..
    it annoys me so..
i just dont want to be destined to be asking " do you want fries with that?" until i finish school.

It sounds like a bumer, Billie. Apply at Hungry Jack's instead where you can ask, "Do you want chips with those chooks?" :)

Would you rather not be able to pay the bills and have to go to jail, where you must constantly tell yourself "don't drop the soap", than work at McMurder?

That's not a rhetoric question either, I actually wanna know.

yea love...we know how you feel about working there...i think we all do. I am currently working at a place called the Waffle Shoppe-yea so not even the Waffle House lol. But you have to do what you can to get a job if you need the money. So my best bet would be keep re-applying to those neato shops you wanna work at and eventaully they will hire you if you anoy them enough ;) even better create a bond with the people that work there and ask them if you can just work a few hours hear and there

McDonald's is actually a cool place to work. You get your food at half price and every pay day you get a red ticket that's good for a free meal up to like 5 or 6 dollars.
Getting rid of your dreads isn't to make you look like a smiley girl clone....dreads are dirty looking. If someone was serving my food and had dreads, I'd leave and find somewhere else to eat.
It's just a high school job. It's not like you'll be living the rest of your life asking if someone wants fries.
It's good, though, that your mom is making you get a job....it's called teaching you responsibility and preparing you for the real world.

Working a job with no dignity when you are young gives you motivation not to do it when you're old.

People who work the upper end of high-school jobs typically stay with them after highschool.

    Waitresses, etc.

And really, statistics aren't misleading if you understand them.

they're easily manipulated, and selective use of the facts can also be used

Its just a branch of math in the end, and any statistic worth using comes with the information - was it double-blind, sample size, etc.

I'd rather work for Wendy's. Half off, heh... just take the food... after all, you made it, if you're on shift.. or just run in and grab something from someone you know who works there, 86 the monetary funds.

Haha... plus, when you get a car, you can go cheech it on breaks. I know someone who keeps a bong hidden in the freezer and they leave dimebags for the people opening in the floorsafe (wake and bake).

    The pay is also better...

But I don't care for those kinds of jobs... which is why I do HVAC.

My dad's best friend... I'm also doing a thing at a governor's school for HVAC.
