I do not believe that there is a heaven or a hell by the Christian view on what it is.... Hell being a place where Satan was damned to for eternity by GOD....
That is a bunch of bullshit...
    What do you all think?

    Both are symbolic of course.

Heaven is where you came from. A place of pure spirit.

Hell is the material world. A place where attraction to and revulsion against walk hand in hand. Hell is attempting to balance the two.

As long as you're here, its a never ending task.

According to CS Lewis, Hell is just like our world, only more mundane and basically no good feelings. It also isn't eternal unless we choose it to be through selfishness.

    I like Okie's definition.

Well, of course hell is not a place with fire and brimstone where the devil hangs out. It seems naive to view hell, or heaven for that matter, as spatio-temporal, since space and time are categories of this, the phenomenal, world. I prefer to view hell as separation from God. The concepts of heaven and hell, in general, I think, make sense. This is because we typically like to think of God as just. If the soul is immortal, then it makes sense to view this life as the determining factor in its final destination. It doesn't seem right that Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot should have the same fate as Buddha or Mother Teresa. A just God could never allow this.

I am confused. Are you saying that the Buddha and mother teresa should not be in Hell with hitler and Stalin? Or are you saying that Hitler and Stalin should not be in Heaven with the buddha and Mother Teresa?

Well, both. The point is that a just God would punish Hitler and reward Buddha in the afterlife.

Ok...My question to you then would be, does a just God have to do anything, or do people choose their fate by the person they are?

Would a mother who is focused on seeing her dead son when she dies go to heaven or go to hell? (or to ask this more plainly, will she have a good afterlife or a bad?)

It only seems appropriate that God would be the judge of the soul, that is, God determines the soul's final destination. But he would obviously make his decision based on the acts of the person in question in this world.

That would depend on whether the mother was a good or bad person. The fact that she wants to see her son again, no matter how desperately, is really irrelevant. After all, who would voluntarily choose to go to hell?

Everyone who lives on planet earth.

You came here for the experience of doing so.

Hell is quiet an experience for some soul who willingly gives up their spiritual state for a life of limitation.

    Seems real. Don't it?

The mind's ability to project this world around you should give you some indication of it's true power. And your own.

God is the essence of every human being, and God is within every one of us, and every one of us is God. it is when you refuse to accept that you and God and everyone are one and the same that you lose control of your own reality and find yourself in hell. i think you must accept that You are God and Everyone is God and you are Everyone to achieve nirvana. all is good and anything is possible....
