I just borrowed the DVD from my best friend and watched it twice. It's going down as one of my favorite movies. Has anyone else seen Hedwig and love it as much as I do?

    *cringe*

    . . .or hate it?

Fantastic movie! Did you watch the "Whether You Like It or Not" bonus feature? Good footage of JCM's first appearance as Hedwig.

    It's a glam-rock musical, I guess. . .

I love the animation sequence for "Origin of Love". Does anyone know if the artist has done any other movies?

What's your favorite songs from the movie? Mine are "Origin of Love" "Angry Inch" "Wicked Little Town" "Wig in a Box" and "Sugar Daddy".

"It's a car wash ladies and gentlemen!"

"I was bleeding between a gash between my legs - first day of being a women and already it's that time of the month."

*sigh* no. I borrowed it from a friend and I didn't think to look at the bonus fetures. I wish I did though.

"Wig in a Box" is definitely my favorite song. Lovely tune, plus visually it's very, very well done in the movie.

A local professional theater company did the stage show of "Hedwig" a couple of years ago. In the movie, I love the first half, then the last half -- while still good -- begins to lose me. But live, the second half was so incredibly powerful.

Borrow it again and watch the documentary. Quite fascinating!

My friend [who loaned me the movie] and I were wondering. . .is the stage version better than the movie version?

They're very similar. The stage version is presented as a concert, with only Hedwig and the band and no other actors, and Hedwig telling stories (mostly the same ones done in voice-over in the movie).

    Cheers,

An Aussie net friend was going on and on last year about Hedwig and kept bugging me to rent it or buy it til finally she burned me a dvd of it and sent it to me at Christmas.
I really enjoyed it. The songs are excellent and the story is bittersweet. The guy who plays Hedwig is incredible.
I think a person would need a certain degree of open-mindedness to really enjoy Hedwig (If you know what I mean). ;)
I stumbled on the Video version in January at Wal -Mart of all places for the whopping sum of $3.98 . :)
So I bought three to give as gifts to friends I think might like it.
Come to think of it, the Aussie friend is the same one who turned me on to Donnie Darko as well.
    That girls got good taste!
