Hello Everyone!

First I just wanted to say, I'm really glad I found this site. Most everyone here seems to be supportive, and it feels like a big, dready, internet family. Now all families have their problems and its always common for there to be some bickering. I think the most important thing we can realize in life, is that everyone has a different perspective of the world. We all see things through different lenses and it can have a great influence on our ideals, opinions and feelings. I see that Soaringeagle has decided to leave, and for that I am sorry. Soaringeagle if you read this I hope you decide to come back. From what I see most everyone on here loves you and its unfortunate that you've decided to leave the community just because of a few differences in opinion. I think we can all get along if we all remember the world is full of different people, different attitudes, and different perspectives. It's important to respect each other and accept the fact that not everyone sees the world (or hair) the same way. Anyways, sorry about the rant, just felt like I needed to say something.

MMMMhmmm.... there is always this talk about agreeing to disagree..... but we never do. either side is guilty of pushing opinions..... I'm glad though that we have come to realize how much of an asset SE was to this forum. I for one am pretty sure he will be back one day.... hopefully sooner or later... I really wish we would have just accepted his opinions as that and just left it as it was.. instead we all seem to argue so much to make everyone have the same opinion about one thing.
I find it kind of twisted in a way that the stereotype of people with dreads that I think of is understanding and peace.... when some days it seems like everyone in here is just looking for a fight.... I love the days though when I peep in on everyone and we're all having fun!.... I hope we remember that when we're about to write a nasty post... is it really that important of a point to prove that we may make someone feel out of place and not welcome. I mean I don't expect everyone to have the same religious beliefs....why should we all agree on dreadlocks and the methods at which they can come about ?

I echo BD in say I enjoy you guys... even when sometimes I'm so annoyed I just avoid this place for a day or two.... the eclectic personalities are so intringing and refreshing I always come back.

 

What happened to SoaringEagle? I browse this forum every day, but I didn't see any drama happen...

braying i appreciaste what you say, your arival here just came at a bad time..just minutes after one of the worse and most stupid attacks minutes after that person was banned you arrived and felt right off the bat from the 1st post seemed confrontational.
maybe thats just your way and its ok..it was just following on the heels of a whiole lotta other shit thats just made the forums as a whole feel pretty unconfortable more and more

tanna ya mentioned how ppl with dreads are suposed to be peaceful and understanding and on many cases thats true, but, even more so rainbows are suposed to be loving kind people who accept eachother and treat eachother like family, but although some in the rainbow forum do most even perhaps.. the 2-3 strongest personalities there tend to be downright nasty and unwelcomming so i went and foundf a much more freindly rainbow forumthat feels the way it should..likewidse createed a dread group on myspace whuich i hope will grow
i just feltt, if things didnt feel the way they should heee why not go where they do..

well..i believe in second chances..and thirds even forths..but not gonna be here nearly as much now at least till i see things are lil more freindly like they should be..
so..i gueess at this point im gonna just wait n see

brayingdonkey, you are honestly too kind. Soaringeagle, I do not think people should feel bad for what happened in that thread you're talking about (not anyone who is currently a member, anyway). There were legitimate concerns and legitimate feelings that were hurt in that thread, and I don't think they should be dismissed because you feel the need to get in a huff and leave because things didn't go your way and more than one person voiced the same opinion about some of your behaviors. You took the "confrontation" very personally; as if you were being attacked (and you weren't by anyone who is currently here now), but I don't think you were.

And BD, you shouldn't apologize. I think this thread was bound to be started by someone, eventually. It's hard to ignore the giant purple elephant standing in the middle of the room for that long.

 

I don't feel bad for what I said nor was this an apology. It was simply me stating that I don't think SE should leave and that I think his exodus is an overreaction.

 

I've said before that I don't particularly agree with SE's means of leaving; a "Goodbye, cruel forum, I won't be back until you guys stop being meeeeeeeean. Except I will be here, just not as often. But I'll post when I want to..." kind of post. I mean, really, leave or stay. But when you continue to post multiple times a day, with the new addition of "Well I'm not going to be as active..." it doesn't really change anything. I find it to be attention-seeking behavior (intentional or not). Quite honestly, I cringe when I read posts on any forum, not just here, where posters beg long time members not to leave; as if the board will simply collapse and change for the worse if one member decides to leave or start being "less active". The community doesn't revolve around any one individual, so the implications that you are important enough to the well-being of the board is... pompous. Not that it's wrong to miss members or become friends with other members and not want them to leave, but for some reason I just continue to sense entitlement (this was not directed at you, BD. I am talking about SE's posts before his decision to leave, and his "way of leaving").

I'm sorry for derailing this thread (particularly since I pretty much agree with you, BD), but I guess I, like you, just needed to say something. I hope it wasn't inappropriate...

I dunno , but I personally like it better in here without all the drama. SE is a bully in my opinion. Very intolerant of people not like him. I am not like him...nor do I want to be. I have seen him attack just about everything that is not the way he sees it. To me that is indeed bully like behavior. Its uncalled for ...and just flat out ignorance. Then when he is called out on it...."poor me....I was the one being attacked" *coughbullshitcough*
He indeed thinks that without him in this forum that it will get as bad as DHHQ and Knotty Boy. Very narcissistic!!!!!
And even when Luxie was trying to point out how flat out rude he is to others...he ignored the point and was still posting stupid ass links about the damage of backcombing. Seems like he ignores the important stuff and dwells on shit that is just really not that damn important. Its quite easy to see that the tension has ended not because of someone being banned...but because of his " inactivity". Oppositional Defiant Disorder is my diagnoses....
