Ok, so i have annice neat lil tidy acer computer, with this that and the other etc,and yet, at times, it can be a loud little bastard of a thing. SO I allready know about the comp heating and cooling and everything, so i tried this programme for it called "speedfan" the programme where you can control the sped the fans run at there for controlling the comp temp? and it didnt work, i couldnt get it to set the speed of the fans the way i wanted it, and im not sure what they should be runningat to keep it nice, cool, and most of all QUIET!, does anybody have any tips or tricks besides cleanign out the dust to make it a lil bit more quieter, its just such a nuisance when im playing online games or online gaming for example, or if i put a dick in the CD rom drive, it gets so fn loud!

CDROM drives are loud, independently loud.

Any 3D or acceleration gaming will produce a lot of heat. If you want a gaming machine, buy a desktop with a decent video card.

Find out the dimmensions of the fan, go to computer hardware store and buy a new more expensive fan. Change it out, the expensive one will run quieter and probably provide better airflow. Look for fans that tout how quiet they are. They're like $10.

    DITTO!!

Figure out if its the fan on the CPU (if there is a fan) or the case itself... if its the fan on the CPU, be careful removing it, they're usually a bitch to get off and you could easily break the attachments

as for the cd drives, you will have to buy new one(s) if you want peace and quiet.. theyre very easy to install

IDK if u know about working inside a PC, but its not as hard as it looks... post if ya need some help :)

I disagree because this is not a fool-proof fix. Basically, what you're saying is, throw money at it and hope it gets fixed. Besides that, this is a laptop we are talking about here. There aren't many laptop fan options available, as 90% of laptops have proprietary cooling setups.

Expensive does not make it better. There are some expensive fans that totally suck, lol. A good fan to buy is Yate Loon. I bought two 120mm Yate Loon fans for $10 shipped from Xoxide. Take a peek, they are great fans.
