    don't eat them.

also, i wouldn't trust my health to the ability of complete strangers to identify mushrooms based solely on some low quality photographs you post.

anyway, they don't look like paneaolus subbalteatus to me, and thats one of the very few psychadelic mushrooms that could grow in the columbus area. throw them out, its not a good idea to eat random mushrooms. you could get pretty sick (or worse)

i recommend researching the PF Tek and growing your own if you have your own place. its inexpensive and easy.

also somthing to think about, even if you did have psychedelic mushroom growing in your back yard....what is the soil like where you live? do you live in an old house thats been painted with a lead base in the past? junky cars parked on the lawn? chemy pesticides been sprayed? lots of factors. one thing mushrooms are really good at is cleansing toxicity from the soil. dont eat them man.

Right on, thanks guys. I figured they weren't psychedelic so didn't plan on eating them, but wasn't sure quite what they were. There are just a ton of them in the woods behind my house.

I'll say what I said 2 other threads about the same thing, take it seriously.

I would highly recommend against eating them because several EXTREMELY poisonous species (including the death cap, and others I can't remember) have that same whiteish look to them. Unless you can completely verify it, it's not worth it to take that risk becuase if you take a toxic one at best youll be puking and shitting your guts out for god knows how long and at worst you would need a liver transplant or else you'd die.

I'm pretty sure you get my point, you'll be happier alive probably.

id suggest you send those pics over to shroomery.org and have them take a look at it. tons of people do that every day and i havent heard any bad stories from it. id think the site would be shut down if people were dyin from advice on there.

what color are the gills? although its not imposible for them to be in a backyard in columbus, its highly unlikely, unless someone opened a bag in your backyard at some point and some spores came out. im gonna say highly unlikely. color of the gills would give me a good idea if they will kill you if you eat them though.
