Hi, my first time here...I have been addicted to lortabs for 3 yrs..In the last 5 months, i was having lots of trouble getting them, so I would turn to cough syrup, and fiorocet 3...But over the last month i had 60 lortab, 40 fiorocet, before this i was taking about 15 lortab a day...I have been through w/d's before once when i ran out, and stayed in the tub one whole night with RLS, once to get on sub about 8 months ago, i weaned myself off of that, because i read horror stories on that, and i just want my life back...I am so tired of this, I have children and a wonderfull husband...This time is different because i finally broke down and told my husband..He cried , and was upset, but i didn't tell him everything, just that i was addicted to the fiorcet3...He is someone who doesn't even take tylenol, so of course he just says stop and no problem? yea right...Well i let him read the opiate w/d list....He ended up going get me the immodium, juices , etc...I had on hand, some klonopin, trazedone, and flexiril....Oh and some toradol, not tramadol...My last 10mg of lortab was on thursday morning at 7....today is sunday at 1o....I have not had dirreahea one time., I had lots of RLS in arms and legs, that is my worst symtom always..Oh and i had some lyrica...now i did take alot of immodium, because it helped so much with overall aches...But now i am scared that i did nothing but delay it, i still thought i would of had the direahea, it is not like i went through a whole bottle of immodium...I am very weak, no energy at all, foggy headed, but sleeping well...Is the worst yet to come?
    thanks in advance

No I think its only going to get better, there have been no opiates in your system and thats what matters most. Good luck, and hang in there.

THANKS so much for the reply...this is so weird, I had read that immodium ad was like liquid methadone, and drink it alot...And it did make my body feel better too...But becauses i have not went to the restroom once, until just a while ago( and no direahea) I thought "well how could the toxins come out? This is the first time i did not suffer terribly...Maybe because it is the first time I wanted to quit...Well i will keep u posted, but so far, i think i am ok...Last pill was thursday morning at 7 in the morning..
    thanks again

Immodium AD got the rep of being liquid methadone because some kid on bluelight decided that if you took enough of it, it would cross the blood brain barrier, and work as an opiate (Loperamide aka Immodium is an opioid receptor agonist and acts on the μ-opioid receptors in the myenteric plexus large intestines; it does not affect the central nervous system like other opioids, but it can't cross the blood brain barrier effectively, making it useless as an opiod.)

You are in the middle, or close to the end of the worst part that you will go through. Just be thankful you are only WD'ing from Hydrocodone....and not anything stronger like Oxycodone/Herion/Methadone etc...

I too get RLS really bad when I am wd'ing...to be honest, I am scripted Xanax, so I just take a ton of benzo's and try to sleep through my wd's...it usually works out for me.

Well isn't immodium used for preventing diarrhea? So thats probably why you havent had the runs. One of the worst things about wds, that and anxiety and no sleep. Doesn't seem like you have it too bad though since your sleeping well, probably because of the klonopin. I think you'll feel back to yourself in a few days, probably a week from your last dose. It seems like you got a lot to live for, don't throw it away for some pills. I'm sure you know this though.

I just want to be out of this hell...Lying, doc shopping, will just get me in big trouble..Plus my family....yes i knew that the immodium did not cross the blood brain barrier, but it sure does help with more then runs...There is a doctor who was an addict that wrote an article about loperamide (immodium AD) and he explained all of that and what doses to take for each kind of opiate...Even for methadone w/d's, and i he said buy 8 bottles for methadone, and explain how much and when to take...Was pretty interesting...Hopefully this is my final attempt..I am 40 yrs old, wonderfull children, and just want to be happy without anything...Well lets hope that exist...thanks to all of you

I would MUCH rather be constipated, or shitting all over myself with diarrhea, then to have RLS. That is the worst part of WD's, for me anyways.

Well actually it's not restless leg syndrome....I don't know why I called it that because RLS usually isn't painful, lol. It's more of like....growing pains. Any of you guys ever heard of that when you were a kid? Felt like your limbs were just so sore and shit....the pain I get is like that, in my knees and joints, and it feels like something is bashing me in the knee and pulling it out of the socket at the same time.

RLS seemed like what I was talking about by the name, but that isn't it, because RLS isn't a painful condition.

Yes I've gotten it before, constantly when I was using. I dont know, it never bothered me too much really, but then I wasnt taking opiates for physical pain anyway.

The pain I am talking about is like...excruciating. It really feels like someone is taking your kneecaps and stretching them out until they come out of the socket somewhere, and then setting them on fire and hitting them with a hammer. I am not exaggerating, this is the best description I can use to describe the pain from wd'ing from Oxycodone with my tolerance of 270-400mg of Oxycodone per day.

U4ia have you tried at least weening yourself off of those doses? You'd be having way more fun if you got your tolerance down about 150mg... :D

I actually forgot if you explained your story of how on earth you get that much oxy. Mind re-telling?

There really isn't a story. I just had access to it, because of my prescription.

60mg used to get me pretty high, but then I started noticing it wasn't doing as much as it used to. Went to 75mg, and found that high I was missing from before. Rinse and repeat, over 2 years of constant use, and you are where I am.

Damn I would've thought your withdrawals would be over, its been almost a week correct? I usually get back to sleeping allright decent after a week, (6 hours of sleep on a good night ). You should try to make your husband understand addiction more and have him read about it, its important to have a support when trying to kick the habit. Hang in there just a little bit longer, I think physically you'll be 100 % at least in a week. But then the tough part comes of mental cravings, just resist the urge. Life's not meant for you to be a slave to some stupid pill.

The multiple times I have been through withdrawals it definitely lasted at least 10 days to 2 weeks but I guess everyone is different. I would agree it definitely subsides after approximately 6 days but I still feel the physical for some days after that.
