I redid my dreads, but its been 3 years since my last set of locks. Anyways my scalp itches, any pointers on how to keep it feeling better, beside obviously washing my hair every other day.. This happened last time as well.

I wash my scalp with non-residue shampoo 4x a week, but still kinda itchy
and my dreads 2x a week.
    Did this last time too.
I also keep my headband on half the day, now im trying to not wear it all see if that helps.
OH YEAH N I DO USE A LITTLE WAX..

I dont need people telling me thats too much washing my dreads blah blah eveyone does there dreads different and this is the way im doing it.

SO ANY HINTS,TIPS, POINTERS, ON HOW TO KEEP AN ITCH FREE SCALP WOULD BE LOVELY.

    PEACE

Try putting water and tea tree oil in a spray bottle or just rubbing the oil on your roots, should help. but you really should wash less because you're probably drying out your scalp though I guess you don't want to hear the truth

You really are washing too much. You need to balance out the oils really. Washing too much can dry the skin out or produce excessive oils, both of which cause itchyness.

I got really itchy as well when I first had dreads and I still do if I use the knotty boy bar soap... ugh! I now use baking soda whenever it needs cleaned and I do not have the same problem. Good luck.

I make a mixture of water and tea tree oil and use it on my scalp, and it's the only thing I use, no soap. I've never had an itchy or try scalp so I guess it's working :)

lols, i love when people ask for advice, but with conditions. dryness is most likely caused by overwashing. but, you said you'll cut down, so we'll see.
