GIS or a Geographic Information System is used to combine and show the relation between two difference sources or kinds of data on a geographical map. If you have a business it could be very helpful in mapping the location of your employees in the field in real time. It could be used by your dispatchers to map out routs for your field workers to get your products to your customer in the most efficient way. It can be used to find a particular feature or find a pattern, this supposedly can be applied to many different things. The cones? Well it seems to be a very specialized tool. Sears uses it for there fleet so I can only assume this is something that only bigger businesses can afford to actually use it in a practical sense. That is what I gathered from my reading. I didn't see anything about it in relation to cell phones.*shrugs*
