If you were doing development studies in university, which two of these courses would you take? Culture, Knowledge and Power Environmental Perspectives on Development Gender and Development Introduction to Development Economics Social Change and Development I'm asking because I have to choose and I really can't decide because they all seem so interesting (except maybe the economics thingy, because I'm so bad at economics.. but then again that one would be so useful!). I think I have subconsciously made up my mind already, but... well I'm bored and I wanna hear your opinions. I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those threads that doesn't get any (or at least not too many) replys, because there's no nudity or drama involved.
I'd take Culture, Knowledge and Power, and Gender and Development, but that's just me... they're what sound interesting. The first one sounds a lot like a beginner anthropology class, and my first year anth was a great class
Stay away from gender, Kozmic...crazyass feminazis live there. Not "feminists" but "feminazis" and they'll eat your eyes with a spork.
Haha, super grrl. I'm gonna do Social Change and Development for sure, but I still need to decide the other one. It's gonna be either Environmental Perspectives or then the Economics of Development.. I know the Economics course would probably be more useful for me. And Ihmurria.. I'm doing a joint degree in anthropology and development studies, and next term I'll be doing an anthro course that is pretty similar to that one. Thanks for your suggestions, guys!
Social Development and Change sounds so wicked, you'll have to tell me all about it. I'm so jealous you have such cool options! can I come to your school instead?
i'd do either gender and development or social change and development i can see a lot of hard core feminist in the gender class though, oh well.
Tough decision for the second choice. They all sound very interesting and informative but out of the last two you have narrowed down I would most likely choose economics of development.
I am thinking of them, and that's why I'm voluntarily choosing to do something I know I'm gonna struggle so much with. Economics hurts my brain. My poor brain was not build to understand stuff like that.
