Everyone should go see this movie, Hero with Jet Li. I think it opens Friday. My friend Imported a Chinese DVD of it a few months ago and I was amazed. Jet Li plays a nameless warrior who's village was slaughtered by an evil emperor. To avenge his comrades, he must hunt down three warriors with bounties placed on them by the emperor... This movie is a visual masterpiece, the color schemes are beautiful. The Action is seamless and amazing, the acting is dynamic, and the plot is engaging. Even if your not a fan of action movies, this flick has something for you. This is probably the best action flick to ever come from Hong Kong, jet Li is amazing, Its directed by this Yimou guy, the acclaimed chinese director, and the North American release is being produced by Quentin Tarantino. *bump* Seriously everyone go see this movie... even if you don't like subtitles the action is superlative. Jet Li, Quentin Tarantino... what else do I need to say?
Visually stunning. A Musical Gem. Loved all of Snows' various expressions. The Opening sequence with the old musician is beautiful. I will have lingering impressions of this for a while. Breathtaking golden leaves and magenta anguish. Broken sword and Snow going home, in both green and white, was another of many highlights. Poetic and Transcendental without being sappy.
This was such a beautiful movie! I just saw it last night and I am going to see it again. Everything was fantastic about it. It is definitely the most beautiful martial arts movie that I have ever seen. It is amazing and everyone really should see it.
Amazing is all I have to say. Probably the coolest movie I have seen in a long time. The music, colors, and effects were stunning. 2 thumbs up from me!
i want to see it, and with how quentin did on the kill bills. i think he should stick with this stuff. ive heard alot about it, but i still haven't seen it. its on my to do list. i hear as far as the movie itself. its a big step in the genre. cool stuff
"Hero" is an amazing, beautiful film. I've seen it twice, and hope to see it at least once more on the big screen. I will definitely be purchasing it when it comes out on DVD. Just as an FYI, Quentin Tarantino was the Executive Producer for the U.S. release of the film and had nothing to do with the actual creative or technical production of the film. Essentially, he handled the business and legal issues that came with the release of the movie in the United States.
Such a lovely movie... I had the DVD imported in a few months ago after seeing the trailer... the action was incredible, the plot was pretty good, but the cinemetography, that was the cake to me.... I loved the color schemes they had; the color of their outfits was very... fortelling... (not to give too much away for those of you who might not have seen it ) and I just love when directors take it to deeper levels, like that. Also, whoever it was that played Broken Sword should get an award for best supporting actor, he was fantastic.
