hey yall, here's a painting i just finished

put it next to a Rubens, Rembrandt, Delacroix, Degas etc. and it seems child like (to me anyway).

 

jeeze, the guy wasn't claimin' to be rembrandt

not all art should be like rubens, or rembrandt...
there is corneille, herman brood...i mean...c'mon man
and this looks pretty tribel, not childlike.
like some kinda shamanic painting.
i love it!

i always thought we should never ever compare**~~~
we are allll so unique, in so many dimension - we lose when we compare.

i do what i do how i do it like it comes outta me, mrahhh.

i'm ethan azuz =P just this kid who loves nature - just one ol' soul.
this painting isn't hanging in any museum either, it was a gift for a friend - us SIMPLE folk =P

and i'm not syaing this to defend anythign of mine,
i'm saying it so that you might KNOW,

magnanimity..i really like this picture alot. i clicked on it and thought, hmmmm...so contemporary at the beginning. when the colors came up and i could see it at a glance. but man, then i looked at it and i love it. i think this is beautiful and so soulful...that indeed is what touched me...the fact i could see your heart and thoughts and mood...or else those that you were trying to depict. i am not an artist so i cant compare...nor would i want to. you did a fantastic job with your words in the post above. you are a special man bro....(((big hug)))

few things.
1. beautiful face.
2. degas, delacroix and rembrandt didn't paint in the same genre so you can't compare an impressionist to a realist. their work meets different societal expectations and genre commonalities. so to compare this painting to...even my own would just be silly.
3. the painting is amazing. it's not childlike. anyone would be hard pressed to find a child who could paint like that. it's amazing. plain and simple. the use of the half and half is what makes me love it rather than just like it. the moon, the sun...the dove.

it makes me want to paint a house...er...yea...and i don't paint!

 

I didnt compare degas with rembrandt is was just making a point of quality issue.In my opinion the whole half and half idea is lame. You people just like to suck ass and his painting is flavour of the day.

 

rasputin, what is with the hostility?? chill out its a beautiful painting and if its not your style thats fine but this aggression will not stand man..

 

what i was saying is that you can't compare different painters from different genres. and seeing as how his was made with no goal in mind to fit into a genre or to be in any style it doesn't make sense to compare.

it's nice and i liked it. so whatever.

p.s. make me a copy. i want this painting for my dorm.
